Our Health Reset - How We Got Our Confidence Back

Hello, Hive!

How have you all been lately? It's been a while, and I apologize for being on and off. Life gets busy!

Just a little update on how things have been: we're doing great—happy, healthy, and still tackling the daily struggles, of course!

Our Health Reset.png

Earlier this year, my husband and I decided to focus intensely on our wellness, health and growth. We started paying close attention to the food we eat, making sure we move more, staying active, hydrating, and really prioritizing sleep over late-night scrolling. Most crucially, we focused on managing stress.

Then and now. Back then, my belly allowed me to bypass the regular line and use the priority access without any trouble, even though I wasn't pregnant. lol

We talked a lot about letting go of the things we can't control. Instead of worrying ourselves sick, we've learned to surrender those issues. Those simple little habits drastically changed our lives. Honestly, we started waking up feeling lighter, brighter, and genuinely energetic.

Speaking of late-night browsing, or what they call doom scrolling, being so preoccupied with self-improvement has naturally reduced my time on devices. My friends online used to know they could ping me at the wee hours of the night and I'd reply instantly. But now? I'm usually asleep by 10 in the evening and my phone is purposefully far away from me. lol

We are choosing fiber and protein over carbs. We now limit sweet treats to occasional rewards, which is a significant improvement from the mindless eating we did previously.

Before this transformation, we both genuinely believed that gaining weight, getting bigger, and developing hereditary illnesses was just a normal part of aging, something that "runs in the family genes." Getting into fitness made us realize that being unhealthy isn't about genetics; it's about lifestyle. Lahing matataba (A generation of fat people)? Nope. Lahing matatakaw (A generation of gluttons)? Okay, maybe that part is true! lol

My favorite aisle in the grocery store is fresh produce, especially the mushrooms—a great, low-calorie protein source!

Now, people around us are definitely noticing the changes, especially in me and my husband. We look more radiant, active, and fit. But more than what the number on the scale says, it's the fulfillment that matters. After decades of neglecting ourselves while busy trying to make a living, we finally feel like us again. Our confidence is back, and we finally feel good again.

Late night walk and hitting 10k steps each day.

Investing this time and effort to love ourselves was truly worth it. As the saying goes, you cannot pour from an empty cup—and ours is finally getting full.

I'm so excited to share all the details of our journey with you! Maybe next time we can talk about the different phases of our experience because we are not done yet, as I believe that living healthy and staying fit is a lifelong commitment.

Thanks for reading, and until next time!
❤️❤️❤️

Awesome, you've changed a lot. Of course, with discipline and self-control. How I wish I can achieve that. To lose weight is expensive, but it's worth it.
Healthy lifetyle means healthy body.. PS you look younger now than before. Congrats!
