The Leo finance proposal: to vote or not to vote?
I had been voting on the Leofinance proposal for a long time, most of last year, but today someone came in my DM asked me to remove my vote. I'll call this person X, and it's someone I've known for a while and have respect for.
X claimed various reasons such as
- Their onboarding didn't produce much results for the money paid.
- Using an AI bot to boost activity
- a comparison to SPL who powered up 1.5 million hive, and leo didn't power up any (?)
- Poor KE ratios for the the founders (i.e. extracting lots of money out of the system)
- Leofinance witness had trouble a few months ago, and their reaction was very poor and dismissive (to be fair though, their witness seems to be fine now)
So I was convinced, at least temporarily, to unvote the proposal.
About 10 minutes later, Khal was in my DMs! He moves fast! To convince me to restore my vote.
I'll admit I'm a bit torn.
So I asked another friend about Leofinance and if I should vote them, and his opinion of Leo is negative as well.
His reasons were:
- don't treat older investors with respect
- don't acknowledge previous failures
- lots of people lost money in leo
- they don't produce enough results
So it does seem, at least among some people that Leofinance has a bit of a bad rep. This honestly surprises me. But you don't earn a bad rep for nothing, if two of my friends who I respect are saying bad things, there may be some truth to it.
So I'm asking you, dear reader, to vote or not vote?
Please comment below, with thoughtful and logical arguments, please avoid emotional appeals. Good comments will be upvoted with my thanks.
But their premium system is not suitable for very normal users and sometimes the response is very little and if it is a normal user then I don't think to vote for it.
not for normal users ??? What does that even mean ???
I am not premium on Inleo. This proposal has nothing to do with being premiun or not, it is about marketing and collaborating with other ecosystems.
Maybe I misunderstood, thanks for clarifying
Oh there's an issue huh... Well I had an error using the Leo frontend while writing a blog. The site said the problem was reported automatically. Suffice it to say I went back to ecency real quick after losing everything I typed. Not that ecency is perfect, I've lost drafts too but I still use it more.
Sorry to hear that! I assume it was early on when we released project blank. It was a full rewrite of the UI. Things are much different now than a few years ago back then. I invite you to give it another shot. We also have a really well build draft system
Well it happened recently, like few weeks ago... I even posted on the Leo short form thing I keep forgetting what it's called. 😅
Oh interesting well if you have anything in the future feel free to @ tag me with a screenshot, I’m happy to look!
Awesome, thanks!
Agree 🙂
@neoxian Perhaps you can give them the vote for this year to give them a better chance at improving now that you've posted this issue. If there's no improvement until next year you can decide what to do. 😉
Have you tried the drafts? That's usually where you find your post up to the last few words if an error occurs. The front end used to have bugs often, but nowadays, for the things I use Inleo (mostly publishing my posts), I only get an error when they log everyone out because there is an update (at least I assume that's the reason). Once you log back in, you search for your post in draft and it's there. It would be better if they find a way to allow anyone to update to the new version when they want (PeakD does that). But even if they don't, it's not a major disruption of activity (at least in my case). #feedback @khaleelkazi
Yes the drafts are blank as if I never wrote anything despite the auto-save which I had activated when I started using inLeo.
Ok... maybe they still have bugs then...
Btw, auto-save should be activated by default, as far as I remember...
I think biases are quite important to pay attention to. The people who messaged you likely have a clear bias, I also have a bias. I invite everyone to do their own research and draw their own conclusions. Headlining reading what others say and taking their opinions at face value isn’t a wise way of making decisions.
All of the things outlined here aren’t new, I have been responding to them since our proposal went live. There are two specific people who have been attacking Leo and trying to tear us and the things we do down.
What is undeniable:
As far as AI stuff: there are people in the hive ecosystem experimenting with AI. The attack vector used by those who DM’d you is to attribute this activity to me. If you look into it, I have no involvement. If people wish to do things on chain and use INLEO to do it, am I responsible? Is what they’re doing even bad for the chain? Those are conclusions I invite the community to draw on their own. However, attributing them to me can be disproven in 10 seconds of research by looking at who is doing it.
AI is removed from all of our data collection. This can be seen on https://inleo.io/stats. I actually built this dashboard with my team about 1.5 weeks ago in response to these exact questions.
Onboarding results were stellar. Again, INLEO is the #1 onboarder of new accounts. Our activity metrics can also be seen on the above dashboard. The data there can be verified using the raw data sql download. Again, headlining reading the blog posts by people with agendas will not tell the full story.
We’ve been building on Hive for 6 years. The technology I’ve built is very clearly expensive to build and I self fund it. In addition to that, I own over 2M hive in non-doxxed accounts for personal reasons. This is a very okay thing to do - many others do it. Is it ideal? Maybe not. But INLEO’s investment in technology and building here for so many years speaks enough for itself.
Saying that we don’t invest in hive is completely innacurate and is easily disproven by just opening the platform.
The witness issue was quickly fixed, also easily verified by looking at the witness and seeing that it’s live and not missing blocks. I dislike when other witnesses jump on a bandwagon and talk nasty about Leo. It’s unproductive and I am not afraid to speak up about the nonsense we all know that certain witnesses can sometimes say.
Overall, I can refute each point individually and hopefully my words above do so in a clear, unemotional manner. That being said: this is a free, open and transparent blockchain. I have provided data, others provide data. The only real way to know the story is to look into it and draw your own conclusions. I am sure this comment will get replied to and someone (we all know who) will come here to refute everything I said.
Maybe instead of all this in-fighting, we should look at who is actually building positive things for this chain from a technology and community POV and who is just sitting around and complaining about those who are busy building for this ecosystem. I invite everyone to draw their own conclusions by looking themselves rather than headline reading or even taking my word for it.
To be fair I've seen the effort inLeo has been doing. It has improved over the years indeed.
🦁🧡
This is why I will keep standing for INLEO. This is a project that made lots of people get to know about HIVE. Even the previous ones that left Hive is back because of the INLEO project. Kudos @khaleelkazi and your team members
If I’d be honest, I think I will agree to some of the things your friends have said if not all, because at some point I almost gave up using the inleo UI because they keep promising a lot of things but they barely keep up with it.
With that being said, I believe that nothing good comes easy. Since my last 3 years of being on hive, I have seen the inleo Frontend trying to bring in different upgrades to improve how people use hive. Mostly, to make most web2 users blend into web3 with ease.
For the fact that they are opened to feedbacks, I feel that is something. They are seeking for ideas from the community on how to do better which means they accept the fact that they still have a lot of adjustments to make and so far, things have been way better than the last two years when they started working on their big project.
They have failed the community in some ways but I see their efforts in trying to make up for things. I’m not sure if they will do better this time but I know they are trying to do better and that’s something.
A vote I’ll say and I hope they keep doing better.
Do you mind if I ask what was promised and not done? We have a roadmap and deliver on it so I am curious what you feel was promised and not delivered on. Perhaps something on our roadmap was changed or otherwise misunderstood. Would love your feedback.
As you say, it's hard to do these things and I appreciate that you empathize with that. We're doing our best and always aiming to improve the approach and use community feedback to guide the development
Like I said, you guys barely keep up with it doesn’t mean you don’t. But a lot of people tend to see that as not trustworthy enough and like I also mentioned, over the years it has only gotten better.
Your project is a huge one and it’s only bound to face these criticism every now and then. I’m impressed that you guys are not feeling discouraged and you keep proving yourself.
Right now, I’m not so active on hive generally but one thing is certain, inleo is not what I used to know it to be and it’s part of my plans to actively use the UI before I can give a detailed feedback on anything.
The team deserves as many support as it can get. And I’m very sure you already know that there is more criticism to come but it will only make the project grow more. Well done!
I do feel the same sir , person X DM me to vote the proposal and down vote the return proposal. I think if they are good enough why they have to do these kon do thing's ? So the reason is simple they are not doing what they have promised so I will follow your path as well. Thank for the post sir. Have a great day and week ahead.
That’s something you are going to have to decide on your own.
Everyone has their reasons and agendas. Being on a public immutable blockchain makes it fairly easy to fact check.

Hive Emergency: A Call to Action STOP THE BAD DOWNVOTES
We are facing a critical situation on the Hive blockchain, where a small group of individuals is exerting undue influence and control over the community. This group, comprised of a single "whale" and their associated accounts, is using their power to downvote good content, self-vote their own posts, and power down their tokens.
This behavior is having a devastating impact on our community, and it is essential that we take immediate action to address this issue. We propose two key solutions:
We understand that some individuals may be concerned about the rules and moderators. However, it is essential to recognize that the rules are made by the same individuals who are farming the system. Therefore, it is time for us to take matters into our own hands and create a new, better Hive.
We invite you to share your thoughts, ideas, and concerns in the comments below. Together, we can work towards creating a more inclusive, compassionate community for all Hivers.
We've even caught some top Hivers using their alt accounts to fund their own projects and manipulate the system. It is like they are playing a game of Hiveopoly, but instead of rolling dice, they are rolling out downvotes and taking money as they wish
The Bilpcoin team were attacked by Themarkymark gang so, we started investigating and gathering evidence, and before long, we had a whole list of scammers and abusers. And let me tell you, it was a doozy

Just as the second speaker as said their premium is not suitable for all is like a favourism among members i cant say of past issue with them but am talking abkut the present which am facing currently with them and their frontend is bad the only one i do use is peakd frontend to some it might be inleo frontend they enjoyed but am saying of what have witness
all I can say is a lot of that is FUD.
I would suggest you come over and talk to users of the ecosystem and look onchain for yourself.
Hive is making itself a walled garden and other chains are passing it by.
InLeo has built a true Hive DEX on top of Maya. And onboarded another crypto (Dash)
What have others done? Complaining about onboarding is needed but never do anything about it.
As far as SPL powering up Hive to get approved that was after the DAO was called out.
What have then done since then ???!
Etc etc etc.
Basically engage with the community or listen to FUD.
You choose. But my many years on Hive. I have not seen large accounts care about the chain but instead of being a big fish in an ever shrinking pond and just blame others.
Personally, I'm a fan boy of the LEO platform.
There's so much that I see being built and attempted with it, that continues to make me bullish. I see a lot of my old self in Khal, when I was a die hard online entrepreneur....
Here was my strategy.....Do things. Try things. Throw things against the wall and see what sticks!
For better or worse, that helped my business over almost 25 years. And it's something that attracts me to LEO. They aren't scared to try things. Instead of asking for permission, they just try it!
And sure, some of it has been a failure. But you know what, they keep showing up. I respect that more than words can say.
I do love the culture of the major stake holders in LEO seem to have as well...They want to see everyone win. They engage. They upvote. They create. They support the community every chance they can.
So I'm a fan boy, I'm biased. But I say bring the vote back cause it's a group of entrepreneurs that are building every day!
My little penny thoughts :)
I guess it depends on what metric you want to judge by. I think my biggest concern (and numbers come from others so take with a grain of salt) is that the cost per user onboarded (especially if using some reasonable criteria for active user) seems excessively high.
I've been using Inleo for two, close to three years now. The amount of improvements made since then has been incredible. The site keeps growing in activity, adding new features, working with the community.
There are weekly AMAs where the community can ask their questions live and Khal responds, they can also make suggestions that are listened to and put into the development plans, for example, there is a function called Threadcast, a live chat, that wasn't even part of the original plan, and we were having constant live events, so we as a community asked for it and it got built. Lot's of users were asking for making the site available in multiple languages and that was just launched.
And is not only Inleo, the social platform, that has been built, LeoDex was also built and it makes possible things like the partnership with Dash that went live at the end of last year. I've seen the new users come, I've seen them active, and I've seen them buying Hive and Leo, of course not all of them are investors, but getting people to buy Hive, Leo, and interested on other Hive tokens is something you don't see much from the usual onboarding initiatives that get mostly content creators that don't buy, just earn.
When it comes to the AI,it's important to know that some users have AI projects which use Inleo to post, but it's totally their personal projects and their business, as other users have subscribed to them to be able to use their services, so it's actually real usage there, from users to the users.
The creator subscriptions have been really good for people to offer their services (like the AI I mentioned before), their knowledge, and more. This created a new way to earn for users that doesn't depend on the rewards pool.
It has also made the experience more similar to the Social Media experience. Every time I show Inleo to people around me they can see themselves using Threads as X, using Shorts as TikTok, even if they don't see themselves writing articles, they see themselves as consumers, which Hive needs a lot of.
My own activity is mostly on threads, because I like the way I can engage there, I like how the community is so close and involved, even the new Dash users have quickly been able to adapt. I would love to see the partnerships with the other ecosystems, which are what the proposal would support, being as successful as the Dash one.
It is difficult because for me it seems like a very solid project within the #Hive ecosystem with its things in favor and others not but well each one will have their reasons to accompany or not the project with the votes for witnesses
Most of these proposals are a huge waste of money, I say we burn the entire DHF! If you can not make money to support yourself off Hive, get a job!
If it is effort? I'd give it to the Inleo team. If it is communication, I'd also give it to them. Mistakes and errors abound but the most important question in all of this is that are they growing? Are their activities impactful?
Well, on a personal level, thanks to various inleo initiatives like the monthly prompt, chain chatter, AMA and the likes, I have experienced some level of improvement and growth on hive not mention created connections too.
Their front end? Not so good but the community that they have built is solid. Like Hope said, I'd go with a vote with the expectations that they do better.
It's like every friend, there will always be those who give us the opportunity and those who won't, but the truth is that each of us observes a different reality. I, for example, don't have many #LEOs, but I consider that it is a project with a great future and it should be given a vote of confidence.
I have been using Inleo's Dapp, formerly LeoFinance, for more than two years. I have seen how the project has grown and how it has been improving its interface. It is also one of the few projects that are building on Hive with a growth mindset and focus, collaborating with other Web3 projects like Maya and Dash.
Should you vote for Inleo's proposal?
I would say yes, I think everyone should, if you bet on Hive you should support projects that are bringing real value. Even if you don't know me and my opinion is worth a cucumber to you, facts are verifiable Hive is a decentralized and transparent blockchain? So you can look for yourself at the facts.
Is there any DApp on Hive that you can log in with using Keystore besides Inleo?
Is there any DApp on Hive that has built a premium system improving user experience and proposing new economic models for creators?
Is there a DApp in Hive that consistently makes the user experience easier?
Even small details like having aesthetic customization options for the interface, we have options to change colors and language in the interface. Just to mention a few things.
You don't have to be an expert in development to realize the potential that Inleo has, I think turning your back on Leo is stabbing Hive. I honestly think the value that INLEO is delivering is amazing and they are just getting started.
The success of a DApp in Hive is the success of the whole chain. I understand that DHF resources are not unlimited, and that they must be used wisely and in favor of Hive's growth.
What projects are you focusing energies and resources on attracting people who are already in Web3 to Hive?
Hive has the potential to be the chain where all users of different Blockchains converge thanks to the social part and INLEO is becoming that Dapp.
Support from amazing people like you is the only way I’m able to keep building. The community means everything to me. Thank you for saying all of this 🧡
Leofinance has done good work, but some people are unhappy with their results and communication. Some think they are useful, while others disagree. Instead of following opinions from people around, it's better to look at what they have actually done in the past and recent times. If they improve, I think it's best to support them. If not, unvoting is fair. I feel this is the best way is to watch and decide later. But in all, the decision is yours to decide on what to do.
im just a user here since the hive fork. I found no comunnity or common goals until a saw that steam leo made its way to hive. it's my home. I made friends here and i find support here and leadership is transparant, and available. I am Leo
Honestly, it's ony Inleo I feel excited to show up daily on HIVE. I don't know deep things about it but what I know that if I am asked about spending my precious time on Inleo for the rest of life. I would definitely do that without hesitation.
They are doing efforts, that matters the most at the end of the day.
Love for Leo
The Leo Finance are NOT scammers and I think that is first and foremost the important thing. Not that everyone was accusing them of being that but there are various opinions on how different projects played out and if they should have stayed focused on previous endeavors like Cub Finance or Poly Cub but overall they have tried a lot of stuff and connected to other chains and other communities which is huge.
They have built a very engaging platform on top of HIVE. They could have left a long time ago but they are still here working away to connect these different communities.
Over the years, we've worked hard to bring Hive to the broader world of crypto. Some things have worked and some have not. I think a lot of people forget that DeFi Summer ended with DeFi implosion. 99% of all DeFi projects went to 0. Cub was our way of trying to branch Hive out to the broader space. In hindsight, everything is 20/20 and it's easy to say that we were idiots for doing that.
That being said, all CUB holders got airdropped LEO and I personally (and still to this day) have been honoring bHBD/bHIVE unwraps with my own personal money. At risk of literally bankrupting myself.
Thank you for appreciating that we try things and not everything works. I always do my best to remedy things and while most other DeFi founders disappeared and rugged their community, I have done nothing but try to make things right.
I see it for sure and my timing was good with Cub but I lost with PolyCub but a lot of that like you said was the way the market burned off. Interestly enough a lot of the DeFi farming didn't come back and things have became a meme storm.
I'm not sure why people are hesitating with it. Its concerning. How many people have came and left the ecosystem and you guys are still here and have a working platform and keep building and pushing content.
The friction to get funding is certainly concerning for the whole ecosystem in my opinion.
We should be sprinting at this point in the cycle building out every aspect.
I really like what you guys are doing and you are thinking on another level with the tokenomics.
this means a lot, thank you for the continued support and for understanding the broader dynamics at play. It’s rough to be met with this kind of resistance when we continue to make leaps in terms of technology and collaborations. We’ll keep our chin up and continue to build, as we always have
I don't know too much but I can say that because of Inleo there are many new users in Hive. New users face difficulties in the hive platform and leave it but threads allow them a reason to stay here and explore slowly about the Hive platform.
In the case of development, I don't understand too much but I can say that it is getting better with time and and I can feel it just by using Inleo frontend.
When you asked the second person he stated the reason and I think it's ok but the first person who DM you seems suspicious. I think the person might have some conflict/hate/misunderstanding against the Inleo team.
And lastly, I think you should vote for any proposal based on your judgment rather than getting influenced by others.
I know little but I hope you can forgive me if I said something wrong or my word hurts you. I just tried to share my opinion with my little knowledge.
It's hard to decide. I didn't get it fair using inleo so, I settled for Ecency. And honestly, Ecency has been favorite to me in everywhere.
The truth could be that most of those canvassing for inleo are those who lick the honey from there. But those who are campaigning against them can be those who might have been disappointed or have witnessed some losses in terms of business.
What of if supporting them could been a huge encouragement that might strengthen them to perform better in the future and even correct some of the abnormalities which are used against them? If they get to improve and flush out the messes around them, would that bring a lot of benefits to the chain?
Consider these yourself (with your personal judgement and instinct, which could be more reliable than people opinion) and make a decision (not just because of today but for the future)
There are a very few projects on hive that are trying to build and Leo is one of them. I agree that a few things they built didn't work but atleast they're trying and this is an important part. Some of things they have done are -
Its your decision to vote them or not but I think that they deserve your and community support so that they continue to build and bring Value to hive. Here very few projects are working and Leo is on top. Thanks.
I have only been on hive for a year and a few days now. In that time I have been exposed to a whole lot of DApps including inleo. I actually came on hive through Inleo but it was a difficult process. I also found it difficult initially to navigate the app and there was a lot of interference with stuffs like writing and even posting pictures.
I learnt about other frontends and began to use Inleo more infrequently but then each time I decided to go back to it and see, I observe that there are positive changes and improvements.
The improvements have come out well enough and I don't have any troubles using Inleo anymore.
The team are attentive to the community and they attend to the issues raised.
The monthly prompt by Inleo also encourages not only the LPUD but also the powering up hive every first day of the month.
I regard myself a novice in these things but at face value, I would say that the Inleo deserves a vote.
Honestly, I am happy you came up with the post.
Unfortunately, what I read about your friend's views are just views with no number or facts backing them so their "validity" is in question to me.
I have written extensively on the subject with publicly available data. I made extensive visual representations that reveals Leo founder and their users hive etiquette.
You can judge yourself from the evidence. I can’t ask anyone how they vote or not vote a proposal, but I have clear analyzed and presented the data.
Hive is my home for a very long time and other than the betterment of hive and its community I have no vested interest and people know that.

Their attempts to intimidate and silence their critics are equally concerning. The use of downvotes as a means of censorship is a clear indication of their desperation to maintain their grip on the narrative. But it's not working

Even though I might not have the Inleo platform for a long time but I must confess that the little time I have used the Inleo dApp, it is something that gives this easy experience.
Yes I quite understand that everyone have their own perspective and point of views to make decisions but I strongly believe that Leo finance have played a huge role in the growth and development of the hive platform as they have helped to onboard a lot of new users and I am so sure it will just continue to get better.
I will suggest that you vote for Leo finance for they have amazing team
I have more or less the same doubts as you. I removed my vote yesterday and Khal asked me in the same way as you.
I finally decided to restore it.
If only inleo's proposal existed, I would not vote for it. Because I have the same accounting and transparency problems with it as with many other proposals.
That the money is not being used in the most effective way with inleo? Maybe. That inleo has engaged in at least questionable behavior in the past? also.
But in fairness to ALL proposals. I can't ''deny'' the vote to inleo while others much more questionable in my opinion are being funded. I feel it as something hypocritical, I don't know.
We are already wasting THOUSANDS ON TOP OF THOUSANDS of $ worth of HBD. I don't care if it's a few hundred more at that point.
At least I see Dash doing us a bit of marketing out there. It may seem like a lot or a little to you. But other proposals have absolutely NOTHING to show. 0 RESULTS.
Therefore, my position in this regard is that ''It's all or nothing''.
Are we really going to tighten our belts? But really, REALLY? Well, fine. Let's cut funding to ALL proposals and make their recipients have to earn community favor again.
I would go even further, since the DHF stake is being misappropriated in favor of a few let's burn it all and rely only on 10% of the new inflation. But that's a matter for another day.
Hope you get my point.
Btw, just reviewed my witness votes yesterday, and noticed I wasn't voting for you. I changed that. Only with your stake you deserve much more man.
Cheers.
Feelings are valid. I think that InLeo is doing a number of important things that some people interestingly do not give a fuck about as they don't directly interact with them. They are the things Khal and Tsunsica have pointed out already. Ultimately, it's your decision, Mr. D. But there's surely a void that'll be left without InLeo's contribution to the chain. For one, they're somehow driving a lot of activity and are passionately doing their best to innovate. Maybe it could be better, but they're at least doing some things others aren't.
I have been on the Blockchain not too long, I think it's my third years, I must confess inleo have been quite impressive in their improvement over the years, from Leo finance to Inleo, their collaboration with communities, the introduction of Microblogging, onboarding and extensive campaigns to raise awareness and advertising the Hive Blockchain should be a good reason to Vote them,
But then the Inleo team should take note of the criticism, there is always a strand of truth in every lies,
Work on them and Get Better.
It's a complex thing in my opinion, from the point of view of creating threads, tournaments and challenges seeking to bring players, I believe that Leo always tries to do the best, Tsunsica and anomadsoul are always talking to people, but I feel that perhaps there was a lack of interaction about data and even actions together with other communities.
This time, I'm seeing a positive movement of Khal and Anomad talking and interacting with the communities, people like to feel informed and welcomed, besides that we need to make the Hive community grow more and more.

Hmm I love that this question resulted in a constructive discussion.
I won’t say how anyone should vote. I do find it “interesting” (for lack of a more suitable word) that “X” is lobbying for people to remove the vote of a specific proposal rather than have people make up their own mind.
I voted yes on the proposal as I am active on the platform and am interacting with some of the recruited dash accounts.
I would welcome all constructive critism as it can help to improve.
One point of constructive critism I have is that the “new account” stat doesn’t mean anything- especially when “new users” are rewarded just for being new… this means it it would pay off to play the system -> create new accounts to get rewarded for fake engagement. There is reason to suspect this happening (with the bs quote accounts)
But… there are also some great new users such as thelastdash that really add value.
My question to you - why did you vote yes initially? And what changed?
Hey @rainbowdash4l, I see you mentioned
thelastdash
, as a great new user. So I thought, I should look into this account and see how great is it. It seemsthelastdash
posts mostly on leofinance and leo.voter is the main supporter. Then I looked into his/her wallet and there is some transactions I am curious about. These are the outgoing transactions by
thelastdash
, fexonice & fexosd, As far as I know these are not any exchange deposit account, so its probably his alt account. because when I checked fexosd account it saysthelastdash2
& there is lots of transaction betweenthelastdash2
& fexonice and there you go its not a new account. This account created on 2022.So, I don't have to say anything about fake account 🤷♂ .
OHHH !! I forgot to mention KE, there you go.
the entire dash community is a net negative for hive
it is by design, and so will be every other new partnership that Leo proposes.
If you tell them post in Leo and earn Dash, what you are proposing.
They post (trash) -> Earn Hive -> Sell Hive -> Earn X (X is whatever coin)
Exactly, onboarded people only know how to earn that X token by using this system and that's what they are doing. It's just an alternative way to earn that X token.
Thank you for this. Had to take a few hours to fully understand what that means and how that makes me feel.
Seeing this account and his alt accounts also as guest author at one of my favorite project makes me feel both sad aswell as a bit betrayed.
Thank you for this wake up call.
@khaleelkazi is there a way where we can see what the actual new accounts are that came from Dash?
Seeing this specific user I do feel a bit played (by that user, and by the system), seeing the amount of rewards he gathered aswell as the incentive to get the # new lion tag does raises some question on whether the kpi new users is actually a reliable argument or that is moving the added value discussion in the wrong direction.
My constructive feedback is: rewarding new users specifically, creates an incentive to create new accounts and get rewarded for being a # rather by adding value. I hope we can tackle that perverse incentive as I do enjoy the platform a lot and see specifically the added value of the microblogging.
Hoping you got some time to share your thoughts on this.
Personally, I've gotten caught up in the Leo Teams HYPE marketing a few times now.
They talk big, aim big, Hype as much as they can which isn't a bad thing cause it's how marketing works on socialmedia these days, hype is good..
But.. they don't deliver results, not results that are good enough in my book anyways.
Basically. They have been paid an awful lot of money, tried many things and produces mediocre result each time.
At what point do you say enough is enough.. You tried, you failed. we're not paying for this anymore.
Hmm I would love to talk with you more about this and why you think we've produced mediocre results. A few years ago, one of the biggest things we set out to do was bring microblogging to Hive. We delivered that in a huge way and now microblogging accounts for 35% of all on-chain comment engagement.
We aimed to onboard Dash which is a $300m+ ecosystem. Now, they talk about INLEO and Hive on a near-daily basis on X.
Over the last 18 months on our proposal, we became the #1 onboarder of new Hive accounts. Not every single account is going to be perfect and retained on Hive but we have a 3-5x higher retention rate than traditional social platforms.
Onboarding and growth is not easy but IMHO, can you point to anyone doing it better than us? Delivering more results than us?
If you can, please do and I will learn from them to better our approach. I feel that we overpromise and over deliver on a technology, onboarding and growth front. I am hard-pressed to find any evidence that we are not delivering.
This issue needs a second thought, though I had an issue with their frontend in the past when I newly joined Hive but I believe they are improving every day, more so inleo are trying in the aspect of onboarding through their podcast on Twitter and their zealy initiative in the past, things are getting better on the website and I suggest you give it another chance.
To be fair there are good and bad side of inleo and one should not be surprised because it happens in life. The most important part is there should be an equation between the good and bad.
I admite inleo is always involve in alot of project and without perfecting the previous one there jump on to the next, but we shouldnt judge yet lets look at the good.
With inleo dapp members engage more and earn leo tokens, not witstanding the show being hosted by khal 2 or 3 times a week which give more hivers privilege to meet people and earn more. And lets not forget leodex which is a great opportunity for people to receive, send and transfer coins.
I was super engaged with inleo last year and the little tokens i got from the shows i attend and threadcast saved my sons life, am not being emotional or any of that but i know inleo is a great project which give great support and value to the chain.
Thank you.
We have two marketing proposals for the DHF. One is funded almost immediately every quarter for a long time, and allow me to doubt the efficiency of that funding (plus, in a popularity contest, it is probably among the last ones, despite some of the good things it funds, due to the bad ones).
The other one is Inleo. It is my impression it already delivered more with less. But it is only my impression, and facts are thrown from both sides to be checked, analyzed and decided upon. Something else to consider: when someone talks about connections to other ecosystems, especially in marketing endeavors, it's better to have connections in those ecosystems. And by all I have seen so far looks like the Inleo team has them. Let me be clear: they are not angels, they have faults, they also screwed up in the past (and some people will never forget that), but they also deliver, in my opinion.
Give me an alternative marketing proposal that can get the support it needs and is trustworthy to deliver on what they say they would do. I would vote on that too. Or even instead, if it's a much better proposal.
Well, if you truly care about this. I can give you reasons for why you shouldn't vote with evidence in private. In private because I don't want to disclose my sources in public.
I am a part of both InLEO and Splinterlands projects. These two are some of the few Hive projects that onboard, do marketing campaigns and try to grow Hive with their efforts.
Even though the crypto market is not in a good condition, our strategies have yielded positive results considering the growth of both projects. I firmly believe that the higher-highs in the price and constant onboarding will trigger a self-fulfilling cycle that will leverage the growth of all the stakeholders of our ecosystem.
We just need some time, patience and consistent growth.

Despite what anyone thinks and says about LEO 🦁, I personally think they are the best, and they contribute massively to the growth of the chain.

As I keep up somewhat with all the comings and goings on Hive, it was interesting to see this post about this topic. Seems DHF as a source of "other people's money" has always been controversial, especially of late ...
The basis for my answer is my own personal history with the Leo community. I'll do my best to be objective, with pros and cons:
Pros:
The "good vibes" from the above kept me invested through the next phase of Khal and the Leo community's creation of Cub Finance, then their expansion of that onto the Polygon blockchain. All of which required the use of the Leo bridge.
During this part of my experience, I became (briefly) a Lion in the Leo commmunity.
Cons:
The discovery of a key member of the Leo community saying one thing and finding transactional evidence they were actually driving people one way to their advantage and personally benefitting from it by doing the opposite ...
TLDNR? After favorable initial impressions, I rose up through the ranks over the next ~two years to become a Leo Lion. Then, I sold it all, having sustained a very substantial loss and haven't been involved with the Leo community since.
Anyone familiar with any of this realizes it is somewhat "old news." Has there been a turnaround on the general trend (IMO) in the wrong direction since then? Obviously I do not know and would be biased to offer an opinion. I can only say I have not and would not be voting in favor of funding their work from DHF.
P.S. Full disclosure. As explained here and here, I have also all but completely divested from the Hive blockchain itself. I am still here, having delinked my writing in support of others from "getting paid" for it ... Clears the mind ...
To say the least, inleo is doing amazingly well. Lots of people have onboarded to hive, I did it vis inleo, they may have some short comings, but can't be attributed to the impact they have made on hive. So I would propose that you go on with your vote.
