The Hidden Cost of My online Grinding

I thought that moving to a new place would solve the lack of electricity we have been facing in our former area, but it turned out that things are just the same in the new area. Since we moved into the house, there has never been a flash of light and I don't even know why it's like that in the area because no one seems to be bothering about it.

In the first week of our coming to this place, we thought perhaps it was because we just came over here, there will be electricity because everything looks normal on the street. The electric poles, the cables and transformer are all good and in the right condition. But, reality soon shows us what we are into - there has been no light in the area since the beginning of the year. It was even worse than our former area.

If it was about the inability to power household appliances like TV and music systems, I wouldn't be so bothered because we can live without those things and use phones as alternative mediums to listen to music and watch movies. The main issue is that the lack of electricity has continuously increased the cost of coming online.

As someone who works online daily, I need to have my phone powered all the time. This means I have to rely on the charging center to have my phone charged. But, it's not just me alone in the house, together with my wife and kids, we have five android phones in the house, and as the father and man of the house, all experience is on me to change the five phones daily.

One will even think that with the help of a power bank the problem will be less manageable. Although it helps a bit because I got two power banks, but, the cost of charging them is still the same as charging the five phones. It could have been enough to last me three to four days if I was using the two power banks alone. But you know how it's with a family, I won't refuse my wife or kids to charge their phones with the power banks, and they love to use their phones to watch movies while charging, especially at night which easily drains the power banks.

I charge these power banks daily at almost a dollar for the two. This cost sometimes makes me feel bad, but I must come online to do my daily grind, and the cost of staying online continues to get bigger everyday. When you add that to the cost of the data package I buy a month, you will understand why I feel pained about the situation.
