How to self-improve as a Hive user
Good afternoon, friends!
Today, after reading a post by a user I follow and enjoy following very much, I found myself realizing exactly some of the problems, or rather small difficulties, that I've been having.
Since I've been following him, I've read practically all of his posts, and of course, like other users I like and follow, I end up not interacting with their posts.

You could say that one of the main reasons is that I don't dedicate the time they deserve as content creators.
- And what do I mean by this?
Well, when I read their posts, or see their photos, ideas, videos, etc., since I don't have much time to spend in front of a PC, not counting the mandatory time I have to do so (because of my job), I end up leaving the page, without a comment being written... my appreciation is translated into a simple vote, usually 100% (despite my small voting value...). Well, my vote for the publications I like goes into a huge list of votes... and the publications and authors I follow end up with more than 500 on average.
- What does this say about "me" to whoever created the content?
NOTHING!
Apart from the small crumb it represents for the real curators of the publication, as happens with my publications, if those who liked the content only leave their vote and not a comment (which could even be a criticism... I appreciate being told things, yes!), it ends up being just another vote (except for those votes from people I've met in person, as I had the opportunity to do in 2022 in Amsterdam at HiveFest7) - (Miss you all!!!, you know who you are, right? 😄)
In his publication, @dbooster suggests a model mindset in which he obliges himself to publish at least once a day, and to make 5 comments on content he likes.

Not to be a plagiarist, but I like LOVE his goals! And it's exactly as he says. It ends up being like going to the gym.... if you don't go one day for a certain reason, it's easier that the next day, and because you've "broken" a sequence, you end up feeling like not going either.
Like any habit, there's always a period when our brain has to adapt and force itself to acquire new actions and routines...
- But I'm focused!
For a few weeks now, and even before January 1st, I've been achieving my goal of publishing daily on Hive. At first I confess it wasn't difficult at all, but then as the days went by, there were some days when I didn't feel like inspiration was at its best...
And today, January 25th, I can say that this has also happened.
After a particularly f***ed up complicated day at work, where despite the volume of work, there was a life-or-death situation with one of the patients I saw... I feel particularly "tired". But, as I said at the beginning, the publication of @dbooster gave me the initial impetus to start taking the first step.
Today, after returning from another daily workout at the gym, which I do not miss, and after having my protein shake, I decided to publish this post and not leave it until after dinner!
In fact, I think I'm so motivated that I'm not even going to have dinner, and after a good shower, I'm going to bed early to see if I have more energy for my day tomorrow.
So, the goals for next February here at Hive: 👇👇
- Daily posts
- Respond to comments in my posts (I already do this)
- Comment on at least 5 posts by users I follow, or ideally by 5 users I don't follow and know that day.

What goals do you have for the second month of the year?
Feel free to comment. I may take a while to reply, but it's something I've always done. I never leave a comment that questions something or that is interesting unanswered.
Thank you to those of you who spent a bit of your day reading my post.
I like the format of not having an obligatory structure, or having someone to "guide" me through the photos I publish, while the exact opposite happens... My ideas are transformed into words and text, which inspire the images that illustrate them.
I always feel so bad anytime I leave a vote without a comment. It's especially prevalent on posts by people who show up in my feed (yikes!). I like to browse through /created regularly to come across names I'm not following and see if I can find new people. I put in extra effort to comment on posts by people I find like this, then it just comes to the challenge of me keeping up with comments on future posts! Sounds like I should swing over to @dbooster 's page as well and check them out for tidbits on being a better Hiver, hehe.
Oh yeah, and I don't have anything special planned for February other than helping my son with getting his driver's license and a car. Exciting and nerve wracking times!
Thank you so much i don’t want to post today cus I had a low vote yesterday now I’m going to my draft to start creating something ..
Thank you so much
I totally understand you. You have to adjust your strategy to your goals and path. Thank you for the comment, @xonium ! Have a great weekend!
Post manually reviewed. 😊
That's a perfect goal! I try to comment at least 5 posts per day, and although can't say I achieve it everyday, it's one of the best ways to discover new content, learn, and nurture some interactions on the blockchain.
It has been very difficult for me to "have" some spare time to "surf in the community and to read the posts, so I can comment them on a true basis mode answer... Gonna keep trying with that goal!
Spare times comes when we put our mind to it. ;)
It's a decision that depends on our selfs, that is absolutely right,my friend
That's a great goal you have there @xrayman. I'm a newbie here and I don't really know how to interact with people here at hive. So, I also had a hard time blogging.
Well, there isn't a thumb rule to interact with others in Hive. It could be a comment that shows that you were interested in the post, or in the subject, like you have made here, right?
Don't struggle with rules, just don't use plagiarism or AI technology to produce your content. Be real, and the value of Hive will find you!
Enjoy the ride, my friend!
Thanks @xrayman. I will
I used to have the same goals but with a lot more numbers. These days I just stick to small manageable numbers since IRL life takes up a lot of my time. It's interesting to see new content especially when I really go out there and just browse around. When you think hive is lack engagement, it's probably us who hasn't discovered them.
I've tried to set a low number to be more realistic with myself... Let's see if I can compromise with that goals... Sometimes, most of the times to be more correct, life routines makes the available free time to be so short, that practically few minutes per day are spent here. It up to me to make space for them, right? Don't let the towel drop in the ground...
