Getting What You Prayed for Does not Mean Your Prayers Were Answered
Take a look at this, two men start out life, one an atheist and the other a devoted Christian.
Everytime the Christian has a problem or wants anything, he prays to his God. He prays when:
• he's about to write an exam,
•about to go fishing,
• he's sick,
• he's having bad Internet connection,
• his job is threatened,
• he's about to ask for a raise
• he's running late for the bus/train
• his car key is missing
He prays for every single thing. This is just the lifestyle of most Christians, prayers are very frequent and they always ask for whatever they want/is bothering them when they pray.
As for the atheist, he never prays, when he needs something he only tries to get it the natural way like applying, working, etc. all without any prayers to any deities.
After years of living like this the Christian would tell you that prayer works, that they get some of the things that they pray for, forgetting that the atheist also gets some of the things he want even without praying.
The Christian seems to be saying that without a spiritual force helping you you wouldn't get a single thing you want, but isn't that the most outrageous fallacy?
No matter how lazy or foolish you are it's not just possible for you not to get what you want at least a few times in life. But if you've been praying regularly like the Christian does you would think it was those prayers that got you what you want.
Meanwhile you would have gotten it whether you prayed or not because those who aren't praying are getting it too.
The only flaw in this argument I'm making would have come up if reality shows that Christians get what they want more than atheists do, but that is not true. Christians are not the richest people in the world, in fact Elon Musk who's an atheist has claimed that title on several occasions.
In fact look at the data:
Conclusion
In conclusion I'm saying that the only reason a prayerful person thinks that they get what they pray and so prayer works is because they pray every time they want something and count they ones they get as wins, and it's not like they get everything they pray for, the few they get makes them say prayers work, forgetting that everyone gets at least a few of what they want whether they pray or not.
Further if there's anything being prayerful shows it is that your chances of being poor are higher.
