Making Morning Snacks with my Oldies: Our Version of Creamylicious and Milky Halo-Halo with My Special Ingredients

The oldies decided to make halo-halo. I thought we'll make it for our afternoon snacks but no, they are too excited, particularly Mommy F that we had it in the morning. It's a 9 am snacks, lol. With the kind of weather we currently have, I understand where they're coming from. Last week we had ice cream, and now they want halo-halo, cold and sweet halo-halo filled with crushed ice. That's really a perfect cold drink to have in this weather. I'm seeing a lot of halo-halo videos on Facebook, it's trending, especially the big one that's in a big bucket, and they all look sweet and creamy. I've been craving it since I started seeing it in my feeds, and now I can finally satisfy my cravings. ♪┌|∵|┘♪

Here are some of the ingredients of today's special halo-halo, a sweet kaong and ice cream. Wait, let me check first if this is really an ice cream...

Oops, my bad, it's not ice cream but sweetened banana (≧▽≦). Well, I'm just glad it's not a sewing kit that's in there, or a fish, lol ( ꈍᴗꈍ).

Anyway, here's our messy table with our special cup and the halo-halo ingredients. So we're going to make our own version of halo-halo. The ingredients are sweetened banana, evaporated milk, kaong or sugar palm, a pack of jellyace, lol, and some special ingredients like a chocolate bar and a boiled sweet potato. It was a leftover from yesterday's snacks. Lol

And oh, this cup, by the way, is from some snack shop. When we bought that fries with drinks combo, they used this cup, and Mommy D, who loves to keep some useful items, decided to keep it because, as you can see, it's still okay and really usable. So yeah. (≧▽≦).

And this one in a coffee mug is mine. But I change it later on because I realize I won't be able to put much on it. Lol

By the way, I used one special ingredient in my halo-halo. I used this chocolate bar called Choco Tops. I really love it when I mix this in a cold dessert like halo-halo. The chocolate becomes too hard, which gives it a crunch. I love it! Haha.

Now for the ice shaver, well, we waited for Aunt Velyn as she traveled from Bulbugsn to Bansud just to take this manual shaver to us. Sadly, we couldn't use it to the fullest because it got broken while we were shaving some ice. I really love this thing, but, too bad it broke. Aigooo

In the end we just crushed the ice using a big stone. Lol. So yeah, that's the reason why there are big chunks of ice in our halo-halo. Lol. Still, it tastes the same, so it doesn't matter if the ice is not finely crushed. Lol

As for the last ingredient, it's the milk. After putting in our ingredients, we'll put in next the ice, and lastly you can just pour in the milk. Make sure to measure the milk, put just the right amount.

And here it is, yum yum. It's really a refreshing drink. Ah, about the sweetness of this halo-halo, because of the sweetened banana and sweet kaong, we didn't put sugar in it. Some put some, but we didn't. We don't really like it too sweet.
