Acri Bean to Bar: the chocolate paradise hidden in my city [ENG-ESP]
If there's one thing that has always defined me, it's my boundless love for chocolate, so finding a place like Acri Bean to Bar, which specializes in cocoa here in my city, was like discovering a little hidden treasure.
Si hay algo que siempre me ha caracterizado es mi amor inmensurable por el chocolate, así que encontrar un lugar como Acri Bean to Bar, especializado en cacao aquí en mi ciudad, fue como descubrir un pequeño tesoro escondido.
Acri is located in the downtown area, very close to the passenger terminal, and although it's not a place you'd easily stumble upon by chance, it's definitely worth seeking out. I found out about it thanks to an advertisement on social media, and from that moment on, I knew it would be my next stop to share with you.
Acri está ubicado en la zona centro, muy cerca del terminal de pasajeros, y aunque no es un sitio que uno encuentre fácilmente por casualidad, vale totalmente la pena buscarlo. Supe de él gracias a una publicidad en redes sociales y desde ese momento tuve claro que sería mi próxima parada para compartir con ustedes.
From the moment you arrive, the aroma of freshly prepared cocoa and chocolate fills the air, and before you know it, you're already beginning to enjoy the experience. It's one of those places where the smell alone promises something good.
The place is small but very cozy, with warm lighting that invites you to linger without rushing. In addition, they have shelves full of books, making it the perfect place to spend a quiet afternoon reading, chatting, or simply enjoying something sweet.
Desde que llegas, el aroma a cacao y chocolate recién preparado invade el ambiente, y sin darte cuenta ya comienzas a vivir la experiencia. Es de esos lugares donde el olor por sí solo ya te promete algo bueno.
El local es pequeño pero muy acogedor, con luces cálidas que invitan a quedarse sin prisas. Además, cuentan con estantes llenos de libros, lo que convierte el lugar en el espacio perfecto para pasar una tarde tranquila, leyendo, conversando o simplemente disfrutando algo dulce.
Something that made my visit even more special was the attention of the staff. Noticing that it was my first time there, they were not only very kind in allowing me to photograph the place, but they also explained the process they carry out. Acri is not just a café: it is a Bean to Bar chocolate factory, where they process cocoa from the bean into drinks, desserts, and various cocoa products, many of which I didn't even know existed. Learning about this process makes what you consume even more valuable.
Algo que hizo aún más especial mi visita fue la atención del personal. Al notar que era mi primera vez allí, no solo fueron muy amables permitiéndome fotografiar el lugar, sino que también me explicaron el proceso que realizan. Y es que Acri no es solo una cafetería: es una fábrica de chocolate Bean to Bar, donde procesan el cacao desde el grano hasta convertirlo en bebidas, postres y distintos productos derivados del cacao, muchos de los cuales ni siquiera sabía que existían. Poder conocer ese proceso le da aún más valor a lo que uno consume.
The menu offers several options including coffees, chocolate drinks, mochaccinos, and desserts. But being honest with myself, I knew I was going for the most chocolatey option possible, so I chose a hot chocolate, accompanied by a Matilda cake or triple chocolate cake.
El menú ofrece varias opciones entre cafés, bebidas de chocolate, mocaccinos y postres. Pero siendo honesta conmigo misma, sabía que iba por lo más chocolatoso posible, así que elegí un chocolate caliente, acompañado de una torta Matilda o torta triple chocolate.
The drink was simply spectacular. I don't think I've ever tasted such an intense and comforting hot chocolate. They also give you the option of adding small pieces of dark chocolate once the drink is served, which adds extra texture and makes each sip taste different. I really felt that every sip was an experience for the palate.
La bebida estaba simplemente espectacular. Creo que pocas veces he probado un chocolate caliente tan intenso y reconfortante. Además, te dan la opción de agregar pequeños trozos de chocolate amargo una vez te sirven la bebida, lo que aporta una textura extra y hace que cada sorbo tenga matices distintos. Realmente sentí que cada trago era una experiencia para el paladar.
And when it comes to the triple chocolate cake, all I can say is that it was incredible. The brownie was moist and soft, and the layers of chocolate together with the frosting made me literally close my eyes with every bite. It was one of those desserts that you enjoy slowly so it doesn't finish too quickly, although I must admit it was quite a lot of chocolate for a single day... but I don't regret it at all.
Y si hablamos de la torta triple chocolate, solo puedo decir que estaba increíble. El brownie era húmedo, suave, y las capas de chocolate junto con la cobertura hacían que literalmente cerrara los ojos en cada mordida. Fue de esos postres que disfrutas lentamente para que no se acaben tan rápido, aunque debo admitir que fue bastante chocolate para un solo día… pero no me arrepiento en absoluto.
In addition to beverages and desserts, the shop also sells artisanal chocolate bars, cocoa powder, cocoa butter, cocoa liqueur, cocoa vinegar, and other derivative products that demonstrate their knowledge and passion for cocoa and its processing.
Además de las bebidas y postres, en el lugar también venden barras de chocolate artesanal, cacao en polvo, manteca de cacao, licor de cacao, vinagre de cacao y otros productos derivados que demuestran el conocimiento y la pasión que tienen por el cacao y su procesamiento.
Without a doubt, Acri has become a place I want to return to. I loved the experience, and you can tell that behind every product there is dedication and love for what they do.
