I would like to thank everyone for being so patient in waiting for this particular edition. I would also like to thank everyone who makes this game so much fun :) This includes those who have supported the contest, and most of all those who entered. You are so awesome!

We are going to be offering two choices for you to use as a prompt this week - and while you can only win one prize, you can write a story about more than one picture if you want. In fact, write as many stories as you like! It will increase your chances of winning! Or just choose the one that calls to you!

Also please note that if you have an image posted in the Feathered Friends community, and feel it would be a good fit for this contest, you should let me know so I can use it next time :)

Wait, what?
This isn't corn!?!
Them stupid pigeons.
Heads full of rocks I tell ya.
Bellies too apparently.
Gonna fly over their heads and drop this right on top of 'em.
Bird brains.
That'll be fun to tell the kids, about how it rained down brimstone on the pigeons.
HA!
Well then.
Off to it.

Thank you for tagging me @wrestlingdesires. These two pictures from our hive friends @mipiano and @papilloncharity gave me a bit of a hard time to think of a story but good thing the story-teller in me just couldn't resist creating and put together a story worthy of an entry.
So here it goes, hope you enjoy it!😍😊

Benny's Brave Bread Ballet:
A Sparrows' Snack Showcase

Once upon a time in a bustling park, there was a cheeky little bird named Benny. Benny was a sparrow with a knack for mischief and a love for food. One sunny afternoon, he spotted a delicious piece of bread lying on the pebbled ground. Without a second thought, he swooped down, snatched it up, and took a triumphant perch on a nearby bench.

But Benny was not your average bird. Instead of gobbling it up right away, he decided to play a little bit game. With the bread hanging from his beak, he waited dramatically as if he were a king awaiting his subjects. People strolled by, some chuckling at the sight of him with the bread dangling precariously, while others paused, wondering what he was up to.

As Benny waited, a curious squirrel approached, its little nose twitching at the sight of the bread. Benny puffed out his chest and attempted a regal squawk, which came out more like a strange warble. The squirrel, unimpressed, rolled its eyes and scurried off.

Then a little girl wandered over, pointing excitedly. “Look, Mom! That bird’sholding a snack!” Her mother laughed, taking a picture, while Benny struck a pose, bread still hanging defiantly.

Just then, a flock of pigeons descended, squawking loudly and eyeing Benny’s prize. He squawked back, puffing himself up even more. "This is mine! You’ll have to challenge me for it!” he seemed to say, still refusing to swallow.

The pigeons were not intimidated. They began to dance around him, flapping their wings and creating chaos. Benny, feeling the pressure, decided to make a dramatic exit. He hopped off the bench, still with the bread dangling, and tried to fly away.

But, as fate would have it, he misjudged his leap and landed face-first into a patch of grass. The bread flew from his beak and landed perfectly on the nose of a nearby sleeping dog. The dog woke with a start, confused but thrilled to find a snack right on its snout.

Benny, realizing what had happened, burst out laughing—or at least it sounded like laughter. He hopped around, flapping his wings in delight as the dog, now very much awake, chased after him, barking playfully. The pigeons cawed in surprise, the little girl giggled uncontrollably, and even the squirrel, now watching from a safe distance, couldn’t help but chuckle.

And so, Benny learned a valuable lesson that day: sometimes, it’s better to eat your snack right away instead of playing the waiting game. But he still couldn’t resist a good show, even if it meant sharing the spotlight with a hungry dog.
The End.

I wish to invite our hive friends @jurich @olivia08 @diosarich @farm-mom to enter this fun story telling weekly challenge.

Thanks so much. How are you? Haven't heard of @sam, too. I glossed over a lot of events on the platform. Haven't written anything in almost two months? Simply swamped with editorial content in the magazine.

Flamingos at a disadvantage

My beautiful flamingos, with their grace and their slender figure, stand out from afar. Right now they are on an expedition, says Anais
-What are they looking for? I don't see anything, asks Mama Pancha
-Take pictures, Mama Pancha. Those will help me with the school contest. Anais says to her grandmother.
What contest? Asks Mama Pancha
-The story contest. There we have to use our imagination and creativity. I already know what I'm going to do. I'll write it down and read it to you.
Anais began to write and when she finished she reads the story to her grandmother….
Flamingos are aquatic birds. Their long legs remind me of the skinny women in beauty contests. The difference is that these birds are always busy; while these women only show off their luxurious dresses. One day I went for a walk to the lake. From the top of the building these birds looked majestic. They were looking for food. They put their heads in the water again and again. But the wild humans had left them without food. I can see that because their plumage is discolored. I don't understand humans.
-And what are those birds for? Grandma interrupts
-Oh! I'll tell you.
They facilitate, with their excrement and their way of walking, the microbial purification of organic matter in saline wetlands, improving the quality of the water and reducing the nitrogen load, Anais answers
Where did you get that from?
-I copied it exactly from the internet. That's all I'll leave the story. Wish me luck, Grandma.
Mama Pancha gives her only granddaughter a kiss on the cheek. Thus confirming her approval of the task done by her granddaughter.

Caddy dipped her beak into the water and stirred it again before raising her head to look at the other birds who stood at the seashore watching her. It was here I saw it, she mumbled softly, then continued to search again, this time changing directions.

Caddy saw a shining stone that looked like a diamond when she had come to take her bath early that same morning. She flew home to make known the news of what she had seen only to return and not see the shining stone.
"We are rich" Paddy, who joined her in a hurry, had said, but felt disappointed when Caddy stayed longer in the river without pulling anything out.
"We should join her in searching for it" he told the remaining birds who immediately entered the river and started the ultimate search.

At dawn the next morning, all the birds flew back home after a fruitless search, but they never trusted Caddy with any words again..

Something similar happened to Caddy as the character in the story who said "here comes the wolf, there comes the wolf", because she was a liar no one believed her again.

Rosa, the common flamingo and Joseito, the cape robin

This happens in a lagoon and in a garden on the other side of the world.
The leader of the pink flamingos Rosa tells her companions:
"Take your time friends, we have the whole lagoon to ourselves and we should not compete for food like our relatives in the third world.
Poor things! There they consume what is left of the pollution and scarcity that humans have caused.
Nearby, Joseito, the cape robin is cared for by everyone. Humans love his song and he is fed with pieces of cheddar cheese. He is also admired for being loyal to a single partner for life.
Hopefully one day God will allow everyone to follow our example.

Thank you for reading my short story.
I invite @mellybee, @sassysniper and @mypathtofire to participate in this fun story challenge.
