RE: HIVE Tokenomics Many Important Things Need To Be Addressed

What are problems for the community and the platform are features for the oligarchy milking us. Look at HBDfunder comments. The fattest wallets on the platform are depleting their VP upvoting those comments 100% and maximizing their curation rewards while availing the creators contributing all the value 0. HF28 increased the rate at which such upvotes deplete VP, making it even faster to maximize curation rewards without sharing anything.

These things aren't incompetence. They're avarice, and that avarice is killing the goose that lays the golden eggs. The DHF is being stripmined of cash by proposals voted over the Return Proposal by profiteers whose only concern is maximizing their take, and credible allegations of theft by fraud have produced no receipts to disprove them, and in fact the principals have flatly refused to ever provide receipts. No accounting for the $M's disbursed by DHF proposals is required.

Absent accounting for funds disbursed from the DHF, we're literally inviting fraud to take our money without any ability to track where it goes. Kindegarten kids selling lemonade have better accounting. It's absolutely ridiculous, and everyone should vote only the Return Proposal until GAAP (generally accepted accounting practices, i.e. double entry bookkeeping) are provided by proposals.

Hive is very broken for users, so that whales can rake all the rewards from the pool. Authors, whose work IS the marketing for the platform, receive <10% of rewards for contributing 100% of the value of the token. The only marketing Hive needs to attract users are good authors posting interesting articles that draw eyeballs to read them and observe they are well rewarded for publishing on Hive. That alone drew >1M new users to the platform after April 2017, but that threatened the oligarchy by distributing rewards and breaking their bare majority of stake that their control of the witnesses, and thus the code running, so almost 100% of those users were driven from the platform. Today ~2000 stalwarts stubbornly remain here posting for a fraction of the rewards that whales haven't snarfed up.

The only reason more people aren't flagged off the platform is that pretense of a community being rewarded is the only thing giving any value to the token. We can observe the token declining in value, even though that decline is reducing the value of the largest stakes the most, because if a whale doesn't dump their stake before the other whales do, they get left hodling tokens that have lost all value. It's a run on the Hive bank, and it's the whales larcenous greed that is, and always has been, the problem causing Hive to decline in utility and the token to lose value.

BTW, of that ~10% of rewards that goes to authors, >90% goes to whales. The rest of the community splits ~1% of total rewards and the whales get the rest.

Solutions to these problems destroying Hive cannot be implemented because the cause of these problems are the very stakeholders that control governance to whom the problems are the very features that enable them to take 99% of the rewards issuing from the pool.

End curation rewards completely. There is no need whatsoever to incentivize upvoting good content. Add an additional metric besides stake weight, or eliminate stake entirely, to vote for witnesses. Some kind of POB, of unique human identity, is the necessary metric to enable 1a1v so that the community of users is who governs the platform - not the most avarice. Apply some controls on DV's. DV's tax creators. There needs to be some limitation on how much and why creators can be taxed. Simply letting anyone with stake tax anybody for any reason to the limits of their stake is utterly ridiculous, and has proven to be insuperable on a social media platform. End automation of social interactions. Social media is people interacting. That is why it has become the largest financial sector in global markets, while this social media platform has shed users like a mangy dog does hair. Every automated post and comment eliminates the utility to human beings the platform has. Votes are also speech, and automated up or down votes similarly eliminate the utility of the platform to human beings. All social interactions must be organic human actions. If we don't prevent bots from automating interactions, AI will quickly completely take over and the platform will be nothing but a competition between bots to suck tokens out of the pool, with zero people actually posting and commenting.

Absent these changes inflation, HBD savings, nor anything else will matter, because the whales will extract the maximum value they can before they abandon the worthless, shriveled husk of Hive and move on to an investment that can make them money.

Thanks!

There is so much that is wrong with HIVE and the best we can do is fight back and grow our stake.
