Sunday Weekly HSBI and DUO Token Giveaway, Week 61!

I'm not quite sure how, but it seems that Sunday is coming around faster and faster. I'm out on the back patio drinking some coffee and starting to put together today's giveaway post. It's a gorgeous morning, and I love this time of day in southern California. Especially the weekends when there is so little traffic noise which is really nice.

This little weekly contest has grown quite a bit, this past week we had 45 participants. It's been fun to watch the giveaway grow over the past year, and with Comment Rewarder I'm able to share 10% of my earnings from the post back with all of the participants. Sunflowers

This beautiful flower has always been my favorite as my mother planted them all over her yard. They originated here in the Americas and were brought to Europe and became a huge crop for sunflower oil. Prior to the war, Ukraine was the top producer of sunflowers, just and interesting factoid. At any rate they are beautiful and there are lots of different varieties that have been developed over the centuries. Thanks to @monsterbuster , @lanzjoseg , @dailyspam , @maiasun84 , @tortangkahoy , @anderssinho and @blitzzzz for picking my favorite flower!

Orchids

Orchids are very pretty flowers that are found pretty much everywhere around the world in one form or another. Excluding glaciers and Antarctica. They are very pretty and popular to grow. I have never grown any myself, but I can see the draw. There are so many varieties and some can be challenging to grow. Thanks for this great choice by @dewabrata , @servelle , @okarun , @ekavieka , @cositav , @neblomax , @sgbonus and @tengolotodo .

Roses

Another flower that I knew would be popular, they are gorgeous and come in many colors. Plus they tend to flower most of the year as well which keeps your yard looking decorative year round. I have several in my yard and have always enjoyed them, except the yearly pruning which can be tricky with all of the thorns! Tulips

What pretty springtime flowers. I've always wanted to see the tulip fields in the Netherlands in spring time but have never made it. Maybe one of these days I can plan a European trip in spring. They add a lot of color to every spring, thanks for choosing this one @gwajnberg , @alexvan , @lumpiadobo and @sylmarill .

Marigold

These are very pretty flowers that pop up early in spring as well. It's always fun to see all of the colors when the marigolds start to bloom. My mother used to grow some of these too, very pretty flowers. Thanks to @silvertop and @hafiz34 for this great pick!

Lilacs

These I had to share because my grandmother had a couple of lilac bushes in her yard and each spring they smelled so amazing. They produce blue to purple flowers with an intoxicating aroma, it's no wonder at one point they made perfume with them. Thanks to @melinda010100 for thinking of these awesome flowers!

Bird of Paradise

This cool flower originated in South Africa but is grown in temperate climates around the world these days. I have a neighbor that grows them and they are really pretty. From what @silverd510 shared about them if you want a florist to obtain some it's necessary to ask in advance. They aren't commonly seen in most florists shops. What a pretty flower, isn't it?

The choices were wide and varied this week, so I won't be able to showcase each one. However @bigorna1 shared his favorite is the honeysuckle and @hatdogsensei is a fan of the carnations. @ladyaryastark chose jasmine flowers, they sure smell great!

My friend @rainbowdash4l chose the water lily, what an amazing flower. They float in the middle of ponds, pretty flowers! And @florakese chose the broad bean flower as she remembers them from her grandfather's garden. @gatet is a fan of the daisy flower, and @holdeck2 of the lily. @olaf.gui likes almond blossoms and in Portugal where he lives each spring there are a lot of those!

@whywhy decided to go his own way and choose the black dahlia! Hibiscus flowers are the favorite of @angeluxx , they are nice because they bloom most of the year. @ckjcn22 likes peonies, and @borniet he chose the angel's trumpet, they sure smell great!

Only two more and both are pretty cool, @gratefuleveryday went with cherry blossoms and he and his family harvested some recently. Aren't they pretty?
