Another Sunday, the Weekly HSBI and DUO Giveaway Going Strong, Week 57
Another Sunday and another giveaway! Hard to believe it's been over a year. As long as you all seem to enjoy it, I'll keep it going. This past week we had 40 participants which is leaps and bounds above the five or six I used to get in the first few Sundays, so thanks so much for visiting and participating!
The CyrptoCompany could use some help
This week my friend @powerpaul lost a big delegation to his @cryptocompany . He's one of the newer builders here on Hive, and has one play to win game already active which is BroBang. It's simple and fun, and he's working on some new games for Hive all the time. If anyone has a few HP available I'm sure he would appreciate any delegations to @cryptocompany , plus you earn some of his CCD tokens daily. Thank you in advance if you can help out!
Let's jump into last week's responses to the entry question about what is your favorite smart phone?
iPhone
iphoneincanada.ca
Launched in 2007 by a Steve Jobs led Apple Corporation this device literally changed the world as we know it. Hard to believe less than 20 years ago we didn't all carry around devices in our hands all day long, the good old days... To be honest, I really kind of miss them...
Still one of the top companies in smart phone production they continue to innovate some of the top devices. I've owned several in the past and really enjoyed them. One thing I like about them is they tend to be smaller and easier to carry around. Thanks for sharing your opinion to @akiraymd , @blitzzzz , @gwajnberg , @flummi97 , @middle-earthling , @silverd510 , @rainbowdash4l , @silvertop , @ronnie10 , @bigorna1 , @angeluxx , @doombot75 and @lumpiadobo .
Samsung
Samsung has been in the smart phone game since 2009 and have made some of the best devices available. Using the Android operating system (just as almost everyone but Apple) they produce a large line of phones. They have the newest Galaxy lines that are very pricey to the less expensive phones that can be picked up on most any budget. I have had a few of these and they are great phones. It's what I currently use at the moment. Thanks to @logen9f , @sylmarill , @henruc , @dewabrata , @lecia89 , @cositav , @gatet , @ladymisa , @monsterbuster , @hatdogsensei and @neblomax for sharing your opinion!
Xiaomi
Xiaomi is a leading smart phone manufacturer out of China using the Android operating system. It can be found in most places around the world. In the United States it has been banned since 2021 due to connections with the CCP and in Finland since 2023 due to Xiaomi continuing business in Russia despite the war on Ukraine.
I've never owned one but they have a good reputation from what I've heard. Thanks for sharing your opinion to @freed99 , @servelle , @olaf.gui , @ekavieka and @florakese .
Google Pixel
tomsguide.com
The Pixel is a Google product that runs on the Android operating system. They are known for having some of the best cameras from what I have heard and an excellent system. I've never owned one of these but would be willing to give it a try. When the time comes for a new phone we'll see how my budget is looking at that point! Thanks for this choice by @melinda010100 , @vcclothing , @tengolotodo and @mytechtrail .
Motorola
jamesdpierce.pages.dev
Motorola is an United States smart phone company that is owned by Lenovo out of China. They have produced great smart phones at more economical prices that many of the higher end brands. Battery life tends to be excellent as well. I have had at least one of these at some point, and it was a great phone. Definitely not a bad option to go with overall. Thanks for your opinion @gratefuleveryday and @tortangkahoy .
Last but not least we had a few others, @vaynard86 like the Android OS on his phones, @okarun likes Techno brand, and @longganisan likes Sony Erickson, some good old school!
And the man who goes with Redmi Note 13 because it's cheap and replaceable if broken is @whywhy ! A smart man with his money, phones are so expensive that if stolen or broken it is painful to replace them!
Now moving onto the question for this week's entry.
Who is your favorite computer manufacturer?
The Giveaway
I will be giving out one prize of five (5) HSBI. Second and Third prizes will be 2 DUO tokens, the token I recently launched with @bulliontools and @bitcoinman . It offers those who stake sufficient tokens daily curation on quality posts, dividends, and a tipping bot. It also helps to onboard and retain new Hive members. At the end of the post there is a link to the white paper and where to purchase the tokens. Fourth prize is 100 BBH tokens. Fifth prize will be 250 CCD tokens. To participate you need a reputation level of at least 25 and bots cannot win. And please one entry per person to make it fair to everyone.
If you would like to be placed on a weekly reminder list just let me know and I'll make sure you get tagged each week.

How to Enter
Every week this will change. I'm looking for engagement rather than just saying "I am in". There is no need to upvote or re-blog, although if you choose to do so I would appreciate it. This week's question should be fun: Who is your favorite computer manufacturer?

As long as it had Oregon trail as a kid I was happy 😆
Wow, it's been a few years since I heard that game! I know how it was that way too. I don't think I actually owned my own laptop until I was in college!

For reliability i would say Apple. But The computers are so expensive compared to the others lol that I usually I avoid because of that! I have been enjoying lenovo as second choice :)
They are expensive unfortunately, so I haven't owned one in years.
!DUO
You just got DUO from @thebighigg.
They have 1/1 DUO calls left.

Thank you very much 🙏
I will now be forced to look into the DUO token 😊
for computers, I´d go with Mac. as the saying goes "once you go Mac you can´t go back". true.
congratulations to all winners and good luck for all participants.

You're welcome! DUO is the best token out there, although I'm a little biased... Apple makes great computers, but they are expensive!

yes, they are, but they last.. knock on wood.
mine is over 10 years old.
back then I still had money 😂
That's a feeling I know well! Back when the cash was flush! I have an old ASUS laptop that is the same, but it's starting to show its age so I've been backing up old files and pictures. I have so much stored away on that old thing!
I start showing my age too 😆
hopefully my next will be a quantum computer.
I am soo ready
I don't care too much, but I guess I'll pick Lenovo since that's the latest one I bought.
I've never had a Lenovo, there are just so many brands out there now!

My favorite Desktop computer brand is Dell,
but after making a successful gift, for the Laptops I'll repurchase a Huawei, very elegant and slim plus the aluminum casing prevents overheating, which is a recurring problem on notebooks.
Overheating does suck, I like the aluminum casing too for that reason. Dell makes some good computers that's for sure!

Dell here, I tried some others but I could say I bought dell twice and although both have broken down, I am very happy with them from the start till their end.
Dell is pretty reliable, computers just get so outdated so quickly anymore. You have to update the components or replace the machine periodically. They aren't cheap either!

I've never had one, but have some friends who have and they liked them!

I'm using a Chromebook.... Does that count? I haven't felt the need to own a PC in years.
You really don't need one anymore... I agree. Things have changed in this world of ours!
!BBH
What's the difference between a PC and a Chromebook?
!BBH

Thanks for the BBH @bradleyarrow :)
I've always been bought up on Dell's during my working life, but my most recent pc was built by a colleague from lots of different suppliers - its very colourful :) but not sure i use it to its capacity as a high end gaming PC
!BBH
You are welcome :) I always have had dells. Just wipe the windows off and install Linux. lol
That's a great solution, I have it on my computer!
!BBH
I have tried Lenovo and it is good
I guess this is going to sound like a broken record Lol, but I love my Mac Air laptop!😊
It’s got speed, and reliability my go to computer!👍😊
A lot of people prefer Apple, once you are used to the system it tough to switch!
Very true my friend, I'm sure I could adapt to a PC but my Mac is so easy to use!😇
For me and my house, it will always be Apple Mac Air. I used to be a Windows girl, but that was a long time ago. I know there can be advantages to both platforms, but I like the speed and functionality of the Mac Air for my specific needs.
I am forced to use Windows at work and I get along with it just fine, but my vote is still for the Apple computers. (and iPad and iPhone, lol!)
That will be Huawei
For me it is apple because I have a mac
It has to be Apple for my macbook pro. Colour rendition and accuracy is important for my field of work and they have done well everytime. Though a little pricier, most of my mac have served me more than 5 years.
I had an HP Touch smart All-in-one PC for 15 years since 2008 to 2023 and I loved that PC. Sadly it was stolen from my home so I don't have it anymore and I miss it very much.
So, taking into account all the time I had it and that I liked it very much, I'd say my favorite PC manufacturer is HP.
Comodore, because it was my first and that makes her special....
I hear you there!

Congrats to the winners 🎉
Oh! I won the first spin... Nice!
Thanks,
Computer manufacturer? Ummm.. I guess, Dell is the best.
The only computer I have is a laptop Apple MacBook Pro. Guess I’m an Apple guy.
It's one of those things, once you know the system it's hard to switch. Plus it tends to have less software issues which is nice.
I am a HP business class computer fan. Been supporting them thru work uses for over 20 years. At home I have a couple hand built computers and a couple retired HP laptops that I have repurposed running Linux.
I bought my first desktop in around 2008 but I already forgot the brand name. Later, I used three laptops from three different companies; HP, Lenovo, and Dell (currently using one). So, if you are asking me to choose one as my favorite manufacturer, I have none. All three of them were my favorites while I was (am) using them. At present, I am enjoying a Dell laptop!
Congratulations to all the winners!
!ALIVE
Congratulations to the winners, my favorite brand is Apple.
Lenovo Tablet with Linux
Thanks for the tokens. I've worked with many computers, and at work we have a Mac, but I have to confess that at home I have my old Acer, which works like new.
I would say MSI, I own many products of them.
I have a few Apple Macbooks. So Apple? :)
I like the Apple ecosystem. The Mac book for example is a beast, but when I comes to mobile devices, Android is my thing. Samsung for me beats the competition.
Don't have a favourite one.
I use a HP, but could be anything as long as it's not an apple. Too overpriced imo (It's quality though, but overpriced)
Congratulations @thebighigg! You have completed the following achievement on the Hive blockchain And have been rewarded with New badge(s)

Dell for me. Not sure how they are now, but they used to be good and I remember their black and white themed boxes they used to come in years ago!
Saludos cordiales, aqui en mi pais hay una marca que se llama CANAIMA fue entregada por el gobierno hace años, es la que yo tengo, me ha salido buena la computadora
Wow! thank you @alohaed and @thebighigg you guys are the best!
I will delegate some HP to @cryptocompany to support!
This weeks entry
I think the Lenovo laptops give the best price/quality (for work purpose). Have had most of the bigger brands with different employers and felt Lenovo was really up for the job especially considering the price range.
Now working on a HP probook - which is decent aswell.
I had an HP for years way back in the day, lasted forever. Then the day came to move up to Windows 7 (yes, a very long time ago) which I didn't plan to do but my young son hit yes on a prompt. That was the end of my HP!
Lenovo does make quality products, I agree!
!BBH
Thanks for lending your support to @cryptocompany , he had a 100K delegation pulled without warning. He has a great project he is building!
oef that is a tough setback!
I will increase my delegation over the week as I still have +/- 1k on cooldown!
It really does, I'm trying to rent a little extra HP to throw some his way. Costs me a couple Hive but if I can help out a builder here on Hive it's worth it!
HSBI sent out! I'll cover this coming week also, and remember to get it out on Sunday also!
