I don't think the man ever cared about caring for the child, he only just wanted her to carry the baby and be the only one raising the child. It's so sad that he took her to court for a decision that she made concerning her own well being.

And now, he is looking for means to make sure she assumes the role of a mother when she had made it clear from the start that she didn't want that.
