The News

Just as the weather here turned autumnal the $HIVE price dipped a little. It is still better than it was a month or so ago, so I see no reason to panic. We just have to keep adding value with good posts and by recruiting new Hivers.

Prices

Some changes are coming to Hive communities that will allow more control over what happens in them. I think Hive should be competing with reddit in this department.

The @keychain mobile app has got new features for token swaps.

Friday Follows

  • @skyehi is another drummer on Hive. He has joined the community I set up. We need to find those who share our niche interests and communities are great for that.
  • @stickupboys are doing a lot for the musicians on Hive. The have a curation account to spread some votes.
  • Musician @philsaatchi is posting again after a break.
  • @blocktunes are also doing cool stuff around music on the blockchain.

These people get a share of the post rewards. You can set beneficiaries in some of the Hive front ends such as PeakD.

Meetups

You should follow @buzzparty for news of Hive events.

It looks like @hivebeecon in Poland was a success with a big crowd of Hivers getting together. I keep saying that anyone can set up such an event. Many Hivers have not met others in person and will welcome the opportunity. As with many things you should not just wait for someone else to organise it.

The Dog House

This guy was getting a few downvotes. He wondered why, but I would say it is down to taking the wrong approach on Hive.

Profile

He has only followed one person and only managed to get one follower despite lots of posts. Posting several times to the same community may not make you popular, especially if your posts are really generic. With current AI tools you could easily automate that. To get noticed and accepted you need to put some personality into your posts. Post on topics you are passionate about rather than just going for the rewards. If you can find others who share your interests then it will be fun and the rewards will come.

Hive is actually a social platform, so be sociable. I have seen others who just post and never reply to comments. People will soon lose interest if you do that.

We are all competing for a share of the Hive rewards pool. To get your share you have to work for it. Those who try to cheat the system are likely to get downvoted.

The End

I have posted on this platform on most days over the last seven years. I do so because it is fun and I have made a lot of friends. I have met quite a few of them in person. We have something special here and I will do what I can to promote it. If each of us does a few little things then it all adds up. The future of Hive is up to you!

Have a great weekend.

Hive five!

Absolutely dearest friend I'm loving the fact that I joined the drum community and I just shared another video... I'm planning more daily drum video posts and I hope to see more people join in and let's have an awesome time on Hive. Thanks for creating the community I'm absolutely loving.

I posted my new video one day ago but unfortunately it was stuck in queue for more than half a day and it finally got posted into your wonderful community some hours ago. People are already Loving it and I'm super grateful for the platform you have created. You can absolutely go check it out. It's about preparing the drum set for my daily drum video episodes on Hive drumming community. And also thanks so much for the mention. I love your work sir❤️

3speak can be slow at times. I would say to not go too crazy about posting before you build more of a following as each post can only earn for a week and re-posting later is discouraged.

Have fun.

Absolutely sir, of course I don't intend to flood any Community with posting. I'm only focusing on being active everyday to help build the drumming community. I believe the drumming community is very important for Hive and we need to connect with more people that are good at it.

Thanks for all the love and support.

I hope we see more meetups, it's healthy for people to socialize in the real world as well as online. You make a great point and that is to socialize, not just post. I'd say most people here are very friendly and helpful which is why I am still here. I'm actively recruiting people myself, and trying to support our new members. Thanks for the great post, and reminding us all to our part so Hive can grow!

I have seen too many people get discouraged when they do not earn much, but if it's fun then you will want to come back. We don't earn on other platforms, so Hive should be at least as enjoyable as those to grow.

With the new changes coming to communities, it should help layer 2 and so become more prominent than layer 1. Communities can have more control over themselves and progress according to a much better shaped plan.

Hivebeecon was a massive success. Would love to see more, albeit there are many meetups going on around the globe...even if not such a big scale.

Would also see more musicians like we had at hivebeecon at meetups. Love your effort at bringing musicians on the chain together.

I'd love to hear your concerns. Even if I can't help directly, I'll try to find some posts that help newbies learn about the chain.

I understand you've been away for some time. You could always ask your friend for guidance. Otherwise, you could check out the @theterminal among many others.
They help new users find their way on the chain 😉

You should just post about what you enjoy. Look for communities for your interests to see what others are doing. You need to connect to people to get support, so leave comments that add to the conversation. As I said, it is social media, so use it like you would other platforms.

The way crypto has won and we will see the prices start to go back up again and it is a very good time to invest because the coming bull market will benefit us all a lot.

I took advantage of the Hive price dip and I moved some HBD into Hive. It was a better move than a couple of days ago. Although there was a point when HBD hit $1.05 and I swapped some then too.

I missed that new update to communities, but I've just gone over and read it. It's really cool, and I'm sure it will become a useful tool for community leaders.

When I first joined Hive I saw the option to make communities, and saved up the 5 or 10 HBD to create one but ended up making an account instead. It kind of confused me back then, and I've never tried it since.

I'm pretty sure the community I intended to make was primarily about Star Wars, but was a welcome place for fandoms in general.

We need communities for all interests, so you should make one if it's missing. I can help publicise it. I used to feature some communities on these posts too, but I only tend to look at those that are interesting to me.

Adding some communities to these publications might be a good way of shining a light on some lesser known/ reletively inactive ones.

After making the Star Wars one, I found that one already existed, but had been inactive for some time. Thinking about it, discussing fandoms could be done in one of the tv and movie communities, although, some content wouldn't fit, like talking about figures, comics, novels, or games based on the particular IP. It could be cool as a one stop shop for all that content, but since there are already places that kind of content can be written there's not much call for it.

With the inactive communities the moderators may not be around any more so we could need new ones. I do think that if a community is too general then it could eventually be too busy. I want to visit them and find stuff I'm into.

There was one who never commented because 'I am a content creator'. Yeah, right. I can find others to support.

I guess the guy is not really familiar with how things work here but I would check him out, follow him and thanks for spotting out this kind of person on here

He needs to talk to people. I think some may be selling the idea of Hive as easy money, but you do have to work for it.

If you can run marathons then you have my respect. I hope you can find a lens for your photographs.

I am using the translation tool in peakd for your comments and it seems to work well. I just don't speak Spanish. I can do German and am learning French.
