this is what whale accounts do to make a bigger return off of smaller accounts.

I like this Lion but this is the exact curation trails issue that created the issues with Hive being centralized.

Hang on... how is curation trails making Hive centralised? I mean, I follow a few, but if I'm helping making it centralised by doing so, I'll be changing that ASAP

because the leaders of the trail are using your power to increase the share of the pool the content gets and they get a bigger share of it.

If you don’t have time just park in HBD.

The whales went from bid bots to delegation proxies and curation trails to make sure they can upvote their secondary accounts etc to keep gaining control of the chain.

I only follow Leo.voter and then a few small ones, like DUO.
Sounds like I'm home safe... right? 😳

Glad I was active before you and noticed I had forgotten the letter πŸ˜‚ Basically saw it because I saw @lourica had the most meaningful comment and wanted to see what she had written πŸ˜†

Awesome!
When I first visited Hive.vote I actually took a decision not to support the largest trails or largest accounts for that exact reason.
I was apparently smarter than I thought πŸ˜†

You can't fix which is natural to dominate and get into loophole zone.

Yeah. Not my thing. You are basically agreeing to reward whoever the leader decides. i am never going to agree with anyone 100%

It is your stake. Use it or put it all in $HBD if you just want a return!

This is a valid notice. And I agree with this in general
but....
the good thing is, as a voting trail member, you can configure (in some degree) how exactly your account works.
Set it, as example, to be active with min 95% voting power, so it can protects you from the 100% VP idling, while reserving the major part (95%) of your power to your own decisions and curations.

Did not know that. That is nice for sure. I am not against people doing it if they want. It is their stake after all to do with as they please.

I just feel it dilutes the theoretical decentraliztion somewhat. I guess I anm a hypocrite though as I am essentially doing the same by delegating HP to leo.voter which proxies a portion of my witness vote to them.

Egads! I am a hypocrite! 🀣

I completely disagree.
Returns depend completely on the stake percentage between all the voters. And nobody will prove me the opposite.

If post collects more upvotes, why would one single member of the voting trail get more returns compared to the others ? No way !
Unless the specific case when the returns depend on vote's TIME, and first voters get advantage against late voters. Which is not the case for LEO token.
Finally, I am also not talking malicious cases, about trails, where trail leaders do a vote farmings, or/and upvote their own proxy or shadow-owned secondary accounts

I said I trust you but the concept as a whole has lead to the centralization of Hive.

not so much the curation trails as it was the old bid bots on STEEM that basically fed off the poor community trying to build. They became the big whales.
