Weeklyish Running Update: Happy with That!
Really this is just last week's run, the previous weeks was pretty good too if i remember, pretty standard these days and up from a few months ago, so I am happy with that!
Tuesday's easy ish 5K
I headed out at a relatively easy pace, but actually my pace was quite good, so happy with that!
It's made me wonder if I should push under a 5.00 minute pace for the whole 5Ks next week, I'll see how I feel!
Thursday's intervals
I was a bit tired for these but I just headed out, aimed to run relatively slowly for the intervals but ended up doing OK pace, I think I am getting faster again.
Interesting to note my heart rate peaks in interval one, and then decreases.
I chucked in an extra 200 metres interval at the end, I'll aim to do one or more of these from now on and keep the 1 800 and then 3 400s as the based.
Friday's cheek run
Keeping up my little runs on the fourth day, nothing spectacular, just about getting these in really!
Sunday's not so long run...
Well after building up from 10K to 12K, I went back down to 8K this Sunday, basically I was tired and it was hot...
Had the oddest experience in which a guy running in the opposite direction stopped for a chat, I had literally no idea who he was but we had a chat anyway, for a couple of minutes as if we knew each other.
I wonder who he thought I was? Or if he realised half way through and just fronted it out...
Anyways, it was an OK run, just HOT even though it was 10 in the morning!
Final thoughts....
Another good week's running, it's so much easier when it's better weather, except for when it tips into slightly too hot like it Sunday!

Nice one. It was a bit warm for running over the weekend, but seems to be cooling again for now. I'm not sure I've encountered other runners who want to chat. A wave is usually enough. You don't know what workout the other person is doing so it might be considered rude to interrupt them. I don't mind running with someone I know, but others are pure loners. At parkrun I just chat to people before or after the run. I don't have the breath for it when I'm running.
Chatting while park running, not for me! Too short, save that for longer slower runs!
Opposite direct chat, that would be a first for me too, he must have needed a break !LOL I often chat with people if in the same direction but only if I can handle there pace. I suppose over the years I know most of the runners in my area.

It's a completely new area to me where I don't know any runners! Maybe I did know him from somewhere else, I guess time will tell, still it was a pleasant enough chat! I don't normally chat to people going the same direction, just say a smug 'good morning' if I'm overtaking them, or hang back if they look too fast, the later is becoming more common!
