Weekly Running Update, Back in London!
So My runs this last week have all been back in London, and relatively short on account of my left foot hurting a little bit, so I opted for an 8.5K run for the long run, not longer.
It's been a beautiful early September, with the early ish mornings warm enough for just one layer, absolutely PERFECT running weather.
I've come to expect this first 10 days or so of September to be balmy. I'm actually sitting outdoors in the sun writing this at 9.45 a.m.!
Three runs in the last week:
Tuesday's Local standard 6K
We got back off holiday on Saturday, so I think Tuesday is a perfectly reasonable place to start back up again. I;m not sure if the Garmin was recording properly on this, I think it may have guestimated in places....
NB I did this in the reverse direction to usual, I think it's faster, but can't be 100% sure as we've had some satellite connectivity issues of late!
Friday's 6KS of intervals
I didn't intend to do intervals but after 1.5Ks I made the decision to do some...
- 1* 1k
- 1* 400
- 1* 250
- 2* 400
Just because that's what fitted in around the trails.
I think in future I'll just use the long straight to the North of the park to do the intervals and walk back, the south side is a bit too narrow and wiggly!
Sunday's not so long run
Another beautiful morning - did one lap of Crystal Palace plus a bit and ended at the co-op to buy some Chocolate Croissants, that's just the way we roll these days!
Final thoughts...
I think my foot is due to my varicose veins getting worse so it's something I have to manage - by being on my feet less initially, if it doesn't clear up I'll have to rest more, will keep an eye on it!
Hope your foot sorts itself out. I like this time of year for running as long as it's not raining hard. I prefer it a little cooler.
I've not run much in London. The parks are probably the best places for it, but we have more space around here. I expect you see a lot of runners out there.
Love this time of year, and there are plenty, plenty runners, obviously LOTs of Park Runs
so very true!
It is a good idea to adjust your runs according to how you feel, and those chocolate croissants are truly a treat you deserve 😉
Nice after a run!
In my opinion, with varicose veins, it is harmful to stand in one place for a long time, but walking is useful.
Oh yes I love to walk too!
