Weekly ish Running Update: On the Beach!

So I managed 4 runs over the last 12 days or so, pretty good seeing as that I've been on holiday.

Two of the runs were standard, back in H, and the other two ending on the beach and a swim while on holiday on the loverly Gower!

Run 1: Hereford 16K

Classic Sunday long run this one. I set out with an open mind, not sure whether I'd do 8 or 16K, there are various options along the route.

I got to 6K and felt pretty good, had a drink and then just carried on for 16. I was quite tired by around 14Ks, but by that point it was just an easy run to the end.

If you care to track back through my other running posts, you'll find these stats are almost identical to a run I did a month ago!

Run 2: alternative 5K...

I opted for my slightly different hillier 5K this morning, I just wanted a change, nothing special just a trot really.

Gower run 1...

I was staying at a friend's, woke up at 7.20, no one else awake so I just headed out for a solo run, along the cliff path to Caswell, along a bit then back again, ended up on the beach for the final KM, and went for a swim.

It was a glorious morning, already 18 degrees by 8.00 and quite a few people already camped on the beach that early!

Gower run 2...

The next day I headed out with a friend who knows the local routes, so this was cool... along a woodland path with a river and ending on another beach.

I let the Garmin run while we went for a swim and then we carried on running after, just over 5Ks in all....

Next week's plans...

I'll see how it goes, I'd like to get in three runs next week!

I camped at the Gower with uni friends many years ago. I used to play Ultimate and we'd been to a tournament in Ross on Wye. I ought to go back some time.

Enjoy your runs.
