Two interval sessions then injured (thankfully not that badly!)
So I haven't run for a grand total of FIVE days now, thanks to what is a relatively minor thigh injury...
So my monthly running pattern looks like this...

With the the only other three day off period in the last month being Xmas, and many of those sessions were quite hard, mostly intervals.
In retrospect this was probably coming.... anyway...
Last Monday...
Headed out for my new regular 4* IK intervals, the first of which is a sort of warm up - targets = 4.30 and then 4.20, just a bit slow ATM is OK!

Last Weds...
I knew it was going to be icy to so I headed to the local track for my first track session in ages, the unexpected thing was the track was slippery, and it was a bit iffy, still I did my basic intervals, same pacing as two days before, I felt a bit knackered but I did OK given the ice...

Problem is I got back and the following morning the tell tale signs of a thigh strain, now feeling much better 5 days later, this was probs a combination of having overdone it a bit and the slippery surface making me run a bit funny!

Final Thoughts...
Honestly, I have quite enjoyed NOT running for a few days, I'm actually going to join a gym tomorrow and do some rehabilitation on the cross trainer, maybe look to getting back into a gentle jog late this week with an eye to building up intensity next week.
I do want to get back to my harder intervals, but I know the game, one has to rest well, and I am enjoying that thankfully, plenty more else to do at least!

STOPI never understood the fascination with running. As soon as I got out of the Army my running days were over.
Got to listen to the body.
Good to read you are healing.
