The Reaction of a Common Drug

I remember someone telling me that the best way to take drugs easily is to smash into a spoon, sprinkle some water into it and wait till it dissolves, then drink it. She said that because it works for her especially when the smell of a drug before swallowing it makes her puke.

That's the worst way for me. I do not like taking drugs right from my childhood days. Mom would scare us with her threat that if we didn't get well on time, we would have to go to the hospital, even though we never stepped foot there till we grew up - the power of herbal concoctions.

I grew up to be fond of injections because I was exposed to it than drugs and it made me conclude that, for me, taking injections works more quickly than for a drug. For drugs, it will have to go down into your body system before it starts working and most times, the tablets hang in the throat making you push it down with water. By then, the bitterness would be revealed and it feels like you want to vomit. "Hey, if you vomit..." that's like a threat, right?

But coming down to injections, just a little push of the syringe in your buttocks or arms would do the fast one on you. Though it hurts, but just a mild one and that's it. The liquid runs down quickly to start its work. If you are suffering from a fever, taking an injection would make you sleep and by the time you wake up, you have sweat the illness out and you start to recover gradually till you finish your appointment taking injections.

I had an experience where drugs took a different turn on me and since then, I vowed never to take that particular drug again. It was Flagyl. This drug is one kind that stops frequent watery bowel movements. My dad would combine it with tetracycline saying both works faster than using only Flagyl. I disagree with him though because I have always used the drug alone and it worked before it reacted differently on this day.

I had diarrhea and I opted to use Flagyl as usual to stop it. Little did I know something else was coming for me. I'd used this drug, immediately I vomitted it and for the next few minutes, my body started reacting strangely. I found discomfort in sleeping perhaps it would relieve me.

What I thought was a small issue escalated into being rushed to the hospital, I was in my hometown then and Dad had to take me to the nearest hospital where I got tested for malaria which had gotten deep into my body. I got discharged the next day after collecting some drips and drugs were prescribed for me.

Ever since that day, I was scared of taking Flagyl for fear that something like that would happen. I have had experiences with constant stooling but instead of taking the drug as suggested by those around me, I would refuse and would shit everything out, become weak and after a few days, I am back to normal or I drink little garri to stop the stooling. Well, garri has been tested to stop stooling for me and I preferred that to avoid a bitter experience to reoccur again.

When I tell people my experience, they would say it was just a coincidence as malaria was coming but using Flagyl made it escalate. Since I believed them on one part, I still have stopped using it for a long time now and shifting to something safer.

lt might be true, because that's what people timely said about when drugs make us experience a different thing entirely on our body.

A lot of people believe, when lt happens like that, lt makes the malaria to come out the time lt does not supposed to, but it great you stop taking the Felvin

I've never understood what kind of psychos those of you that would rather prefer injections to oral drugs are. Like..

Well, garri has been tested to stop stooling for me and I preferred that to avoid a bitter experience to reoccur again.

I'm just finding out about this one. Interesting. Next time I have diarrhoea, I'll try it too.

Felvin? I thought felvin is for menstrual pain killer. I never know it's used to stop stooling. I think flagel and tetracycline does wonders wen it comes to stooling

Hey, mama, It was a mistake oo. I don't know I have been typing Felvin instead of Flagyl. You called my attention to it 🙂😑😑
Thank you 😊 🙏
Yes, garri stops stooling, you should try it. I have known this for years now. Don't add sugar. Just only garri, it is the water you need.

Some medicines/drugs have unpleasant effects on one's system. It's good you found a more natural way to relieve yourself from stooling.

I don’t like injections either, and I don’t get why some people prefer them over pills. I totally get why you'd avoid Flagyl now. Glad garri helps.

Yea. What works for one doesn't work for another. It's all about what sit down well with each individual.
