While I do like vampires, zombies, and similar stuff, I never watched the original The Walking Dead TV show! 😱 On the other side, I did read the original comic book, which kept me interested until the last page...
I had no idea that there was this series too, but I suppose because of the success of the original, there is more than one... Anyways, usually they make 1 season well, and then try to "milk the cow" until the last drop by creating new seasons... Similar to you, I hated the boy from the Dexter TV show! 😂 The actor wasn't good for that role at all, and he ruined the complete season...
Anyways, I should maybe take a look at this version of Walking Dead... at least the 1st season that you liked... 😃

I'd love to read the comic sometime; it must be fantastic. I also recommend the original series, though; it follows its own storyline, but it's pretty good overall. And these spin-offs aren't bad, it's just that sometimes it feels like they're overexploiting the world and running out of ideas, haha.
