RE: 📓 May 2025 Recap & Hive Blog Progress!

Different post from your usual ones but I found it to be very helpful since I didn't know about either HP leasing nor about automatic voting.

I suppose I did know about automated votes, I just never really looked into how implementing them.

Of course the two things go hand in hand. If you're paying for borrowed HP it goes without saying that you need the best returns from it without ever letting your upvote mana reach 100%.

I don't know, I like manual curations better. It just feels more genuine and rewarding for the author of the post. However it's difficult to use up all your votes consistently every day and especially if your vote is just a fraction of a cent it just seems like a meaningless chore.

But I think I can change the way I manage my account and work towards growing my stake in Hive while spreading the love a bit. Thanks for sharing all this in such a concise and effective way. 👍

As for your content, I'd say just keep doing what you're already doing and you can't go wrong.

You've definetely made it on my favorite list but sometimes I'm too late to vote on your posts or the movie in question doesn't necessarily meet my personal taste so I'm less motivated to take the time to read the post but I have to say your well curated and consistent content definetely stands out.

Thanks!

I'm doing these posts monthly at least in the first year as I'm a numbers guy and I enjoy keeping track of these things. I like the combination between Auto-votes and manual voting as some accounts I would manually vote each time anyway so It's better to do it early automated. It's not that easy though to have accounts that are good for hive, have content that interests me, and don't abuse by getting lazy when they know they will get autovoted by a lot of people. At the same time, it's also really nice to receive auto-votes as you know you don't have to rely on 'getting lucky' to be on the radar of curation groups.

For as far as the leasing goes, it's the cheapest way to get influence and grow I would think as it generally will earn you a lot more than it costs. The extra curation rewards pay off at least part of the cost and someone with let's put it extreme 50k Hive Power will naturally get a lot more upvotes compared to someone with 10 Hive Power.

With Binance giving such high staking (close to +50% last thing I saw), it's getting harder to get affordable leases because why would anyone settle for 8% instead of 50%. I haven't gotten my latest bids filled and some previous ones got canceled so I'm back down to 4500HP now. The good thing though is that one of the expired leases hasn't been taken back yet so that is free Hive Power which is another hidden benefit of leasing which actually makes it cheaper than it really is.

Nice to see you like my content, I've enjoyed having a blog about things that I watch as it really does enhance the viewing experience overall. I'm also kind of making it so the blog would something I would like to read myself in search for some things I possibly otherwise would not come across without any spoilers.

It's difficult not being jaded. In general I'd like to see a bit more focus on quality content rather than seniority and all of that but it what it is.

What are some options to get these HP rentals? You mentioned binance but are there any alternatives to that one?

Anyway, good luck with all your endeavours 😉

you can't rent Hive Power on binance, you can only stake Hive there for big returns. For as far as I know, the only 2 ways the rent is either hive-engine or through a private deal directly with someone.

Okay, it's on Hive-engine under the "Lease" tab. Never really looked into all that.

I've had some issues with binance, I prefer using a couple other exchanges right now, but even just the hive engine alternative could be interesting, thanks!

I'd really love for my vote to be worth at least 0,01$ one day 😅
