Recovering from illness | A journey of patience and self care

For some time now, I've been ill for some time now. The past few weeks have been filled with emotional mood swings. At first, it was difficult for me to adapt to my present condition, but as time went by, i decided to make a change.

Falling ill can be a challenging experience, both physically and mentally. However, with the right approach, you can bounce back stronger and healthier. I would like to share some tips that helped me during my recovery process.

Rest and Relaxation

Your body needs time to heal, so prioritize rest. Aim for 8-10 hours of sleep each night and take naps during the day if needed. Avoid strenuous activities and let your body dictate your pace. Sometimes, the body needs proper rest for us to recover.

Nutrition and Hydration

Fuel your body with nutrient-rich foods, such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins. Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water, herbal teas, or clear broths. Avoid processed and sugary foods that can hinder recovery. During your recovery process, junks are not allowed. Junk foods are unhealthy and can hinder your healing process. Vegetables and fruits are highly recommended for a healthy recovery.

Take care of your mental health by practising relaxation techniques like meditation, deep breathing, or some exercise. Engage in activities that bring you joy, such as reading, listening to music, or spending time with loved ones. Personally, deep breathing therapy has helped alot. Deep breathing therapy helps to calm the nerves and helps to calm your mind.

Ask for assistance

Don't be afraid to ask for help from family and friends. Having a support system can make a big difference in your recovery. If needed, consult with your healthcare provider for personalized guidance and treatment. Asking for help doesn't make you less of a person, it shows how strong you are and how you've done your best. At some point, i had to call my family members for assistance, i wonder what would've became of me if i had not ask for help.

Patience and Positivity

Recovery takes time, so be patient with your body. Focus on progress, no matter how small, and celebrate small victories. Maintain a positive attitude by setting realistic goals and rewarding yourself for achievements.
