How JCole Truly Failed the Culture

I'm a huge rap/hip-hop fan, I'm very opinionated, and I've got this Hive blog, and apart from that I'm very active on Social media. So how is it possible I've not said anything about the Drake-Lamar beef and the talking points surrounding it?

Probably a mystery we'll never solve 🌚🌚.

But I was talking to some people not long ago and I realized what I said about JCole is just too legit, and logically picks him out as one who failed the culture with the move he made during this beef.

So, here's what I said. For those who don't know, the beef started when Drake mentioned, in a song featuring Cole, that himself, Cole, and Lamar were the Big 3. Then Lamar responded in another track dissing both of them stating that he is the only Big 1 and the other two are not among. LOL.

The battle line was drawn with this and the other two were supposed to pick up the gauntlet and make rap verses dissing Lamar back.

Cole made his, and dissed Lamar, talking about how Lamar isn't as good as he thinks he is and how his music projects weren't good and stuff like that.

Then just before Lamar could respond Cole came out to apologize and backed out of the beef, saying Lamar can still diss back and he would take it in good faith.

Cole said he felt bad after talking about Lamar's music as if they weren't really good when they infact are, and he can't go on with the beef saying things about Lamar when he really has nothing against Lamar.

This was really sweet and honest of Cole. And there's nothing wrong him saying the truth that he actually has nothing against Lamar and Lamar's records. But...

But it was a diss for diss competition, if Cole had nothing against Lamar or his records that doesn't mean he can't diss Lamar. There are a lot of creative things to say in a diss asides downplaying a person's discography.

He shouldn't have said what he didn't believe about Lamar or his records, he should have only said what he believes in. The reason he was conflicted was because he didn't believe the things he said. Nobody forced him to say things he didn't believe, so it's his mess up.

Even after he felt conflicted, he should have apologized and then said from now on he wouldn't say anything he didn't believe in but he'll keep roasting Lamar with things he believes in and that they should all have fun with the diss records and that it wouldn't be anything violent.

It's as simple as that.

By lying to himself, apologizing and backing out, Cole let us all down, and he's still gotta apologize to us and probably get back in the fight cos it's not too late 😅.
