The days I skip my morning Yoga routines
When I wake up in the morning, after getting fresh, my first activity is to do half an hour Yoga, this relaxes all the stiffness in the body and makes me feel good and energetic. Even my sciatica pain stays in control. But the day I miss it for any reason, I can immediately see the difference, the leg pain stays through out the day, body feels lethargic and inactive and I do not feel the same energy and activeness as I would feel when I do it. So I try to never miss my routines, but still there are some days when I am not able to manage these routines, especially when I have to step out early morning.
These olden practice of Yoga was designed by our ancestors gurus with complete understanding of our body dynamics. I believe it is one of the best forms of medicines and helps in so many ways, there is no expiry date to this medicine and the more you do it the more benefits the body gets. Yoga is just not doing the physical postures, but also the Pranayamas, which are the different forms of breathing is all part of it. Then there are Mudras also, which is working with the finger tips. Practicing all of these daily will give a super health and I have observed with my own self, the more you do, the more your awareness towards yourself increases.
With regular practice of Yoga you become more mindful about your lifestyle and diet as well. You realize the importance of good health and vitality, you become mindful about eating clean food and getting good sleep. Your awareness turns towards positive parts of life. You become one with yourself with a good understanding of what's beneficial for you and what's not.
It's been almost 20 years now that I have been practicing Yoga daily with a few misses here and there and I clearly see the difference in me, not just physically but mentally and emotionally also. It helps me keep a balanced state of mind. The major advantages I have seen in myself is connected with ageing. It has helped in retaining my physical strength, maintaining my skin elasticity, body flexibility, weight control and keep a positive state of mind. It's such a wonderful natural therapy with only positive side effects. Absolutely no negative side effects, and it's just not helpful for the physical body but also for the mind and brain.
Thank you for visiting my blog. 👼🏻👼🏻💖💖🌹🌺🌸
How I wish I could also do yoga. My body said, “NO! ” because she knew that I can’t maintain it every day and am influenced by laziness. Lol 🤣
20 years is Wow! So wow! 😳 It's been a long time! Maybe this just shows that when you’re happy with what you’re doing, you can keep going for a long time.
Our body always shows stubbornness, especially for good habits. You start and push yourself against the will of your mind for few days and you will set into new habits
Wow! 20 years, that's a long time.
This is really motivating for someone like me
Thank you
Wow you do yoga so well I'll start doing this too. I usually just do squats and jumping jacks but I'll add yoga
Doing squats and jumping jacks is also very good, they help build body strength
Thanks you're always motivating 🥰
Is there any specific Yoga steps for sciatica...I started to get some sciatica symptoms unable to bend forward and there is pain in right legs.
There are many poses that will help relieve the pain, but if the pain is too much then I will advise do not do any exercise as of now, do very mild forms where it stretches your hamstrings. Bending down totally avoid, it will worsen your case, squat if you have to bend down for anything.
Take bed rest as much as possible and let your nerves relax. Take both the legs on the wall touching the wall and lie down for 20 to 30 mins, this also helps relieve the sciatica pain. Balasana, Bhujangasana, pigeon pose, knees to chest one after other leg, these are some good pain relievers.
Also do medical physiotherapy sessions, they will help in reducing the inflammation which will relieve the pain.
You will have to slow down if you want to recover from it, there is no other way out :-( I did not follow and ended up in a surgery.
Cool! 20 years of doing yoga is a long time. I'm just starting my practice and I love the relaxation effect of yoga.
I believe starting at any age is good, it's never too late, but yes the early you start doing it in life the better it is for you
