Now… the perfect cup of coffee… If it is espresso, it would be highly concentrated and short… Its crema should be thick and light brown, welcoming my first sip.
Flavor wise… I prefer fruitful or sour-ish anaerobically fermented coffees. A nice Kenya single origin can also fit perfect into my espresso cup.
If we speak about filter, I want a light, fruitful brew with flower notes, maybe jasmine Geisha would be a perfect fit. The fermented coffees are also welcome with their liqueur and alcohol nuances, accompanying a tropical fruit base.
In both cases I prefer the coffee light roasted in order to prevent over extraction and putting harsh flavors in my cup. Of course, also my coffee has to be clear from any additives. This way the perfect cup of coffee wiupd be achieved!
Hey @mdosev Sorry, there's a revised question 😆... to correct the error of a repeat of last week's prompt:)
It really sounded so similar and I didn’t check the last week’s topic… 😂 I’ll check again.
Ok. The same for me. I thought it sounded way too familiar 😅
Yes! It's so soothing.
I can enjoy an intensely roasted coffee if it's made in an espresso machine. Sometimes I'm in that mood. But let's say I need a medium roast coffee on a regular basis. Light roast, on the other hand, is not common here, and it's the most expensive. But I do like it. I think I could drink it daily, but it wouldn't keep me from wanting to go back to the more vigorous taste of a medium roast coffee that is well concentrated even if I'm willing to pay for light roast.
It is interesting how strong the heritage of the past is. Your country has some great history in the coffee production and this truly has a great impact in how you tend enjoy your coffee. And although my country also had coffee in the past, it was very limited. Still everybody used to brew coffee at home. My mother also prefers darker roasted coffee and the traditional, robusta coffee is the preferred type. I and some other friends around me stepped towards the fruitful Specialty coffees and now we cannot have other coffee. 😁
We can make our own traditions. Your children will learb a lot about coffee from their dad ❤️
I am an intense tastes girl, what can I say... hahaha....
The truth is that it is rare to find in the common commercial offers coffee that is lightly roasted. My country comes from a tradition of medium to intense roasted coffees and this may have a reason, or at least we can speculate from some historical information. Since the beginnings of the popularization of coffee houses in the 19th century, coffee was not so accessible to the common people, so the cheap coffee available was not so good and was roasted a lot to mask the lack of quality. Our guayoyo also adds a lot of water, it is a high yielding preparation.
With time the quality coffees spread and today we can find very good local coffee at good prices, but the tradition of the degree of roasting was preserved.
As I grew up in this education of taste, my favorite coffees are strong, of medium to intense roasting.
By the way, what a beautiful photo. The light from your lamp looks like a sugar cube swimming in your cup!
I know that when you come from a country with a huge coffee production it is hard to find lighter roasted coffee. When the coffee is average and below average, you should roast it darker to cover the flaws as you have said. Lighter coffee is more expensive and it is clear why. Mass producers prefer bigger crops at the cost of lower quality beans. Here in the supermarkets the coffee that can be found is medium to dark roasted too. We are lucky to live in a world where specialty coffee enters relatively fast, so I have no issues in finding a tasty, light I medium roasted coffee beans.
Light and fruity infusion with floral notes
I am imagining a coffee with floral notes 🤔 That must be great @mdosevThat’s why Geisha coffee, which has these is the most expensive coffee in the world! 🫣
Very charming
You really know how to order a perfect cup of coffee. I imagine that with a coffee like this you don't need anything else to enjoy its excellent flavor and aroma.
I leave you a cup of coffee for this sunday.
