Merendamos deliciosas almohaditas de arroz / We had delicious rice cakes for snack time

Buscando opciones para las meriendas de mis hijos, encontré unas almohaditas de arroz saborizadas, de las que tenía ciertas dudas, pues mi hijo menor no siempre está de acuerdo con mis gustos, prefiriendo comer siempre los mismos snacks, para evitar quedarse sin comer si no le gusta.

Pero de entre las diversas galletas que compré, fue él quien eligió probarlas, por lo que decidí abrir el paquete para que me compartiera un poco y así poder emitir una opinión, y la verdad es que luego me arrepentí de dejárselas, ya que me resultaron ¡deliciosas!

Vienen en dos sabores, vainilla y chocolate, rellenas con una pasta de vainilla muy parecida al relleno de las galletas oreo, y aunque son hechas con harina de arroz, no tienen nada que envidiar a las fórmulas tradicionales. De hecho, al probarlas, mi memoria gustativa las relacionó directamente con las galletas flips que solía comer en Venezuela.

Por su tamaño, se ve gran cantidad dentro de la bolsa, así que si eres astuto y las comes poco a poco, sentirás que esos 90 gramos se duplican en sabor. Otra ventaja del tamaño es que pueden comerse con leche, al estilo de los cereales, y mezclarlas con alguna fruta para darle más peso a la porción de comidas que vayas a sustituir con ello.

Y para garantizar que realmente son deliciosas, le pregunté a mi hijo, quien las comió sin ver los ingredientes, cómo le habían parecido, y su respuesta fue positiva, así que pasó la prueba de quien se ha convertido en una especie de catador de meriendas en casa.

Una de las características que mas me gustó del producto, es que aunque en su empaque dicen que tienen exceso de azúcares, no se siente así al paladar, por lo que se puede comer sin quedar con esa sensación de haber comido demasiado dulce, aunque obviamente debemos también ser comedidos y evitar caer en excesos.

En líneas generales, es un producto que volvería a comprar, aunque resulta un poco costoso para la cantidad que trae el empaque (1500 pesos =1$ aproximadamente) pero para darse el gusto y recordar sabores de mi país, bien los vale, sobre todo porque las galletas flips resultan mucho más costosas por ser importadas, y no se encuentran en cualquier establecimiento.

But among the various cookies I bought, he was the one who chose to try them, so I decided to open the package so he could share some with me and I could give my opinion. The truth is that I later regretted letting him have them, because I found them delicious!

They come in two flavors, vanilla and chocolate, filled with a vanilla paste very similar to the filling in Oreo cookies, and although they are made with rice flour, they are just as good as traditional recipes. In fact, when I tried them, my taste memory immediately associated them with the Flips cookies I used to eat in Venezuela.

Because of their size, there seems to be a lot in the bag, so if you're smart and eat them little by little, you'll feel like those 90 grams double in flavor. Another advantage of their size is that they can be eaten with milk, like cereal, and mixed with fruit to add more weight to the meal you're replacing with them.

And to make sure they really are delicious, I asked my son, who ate them without seeing the ingredients, what he thought of them, and his response was positive, so they passed the test of someone who has become a kind of snack taster at home.

One of the features I liked most about the product is that although the packaging says they have excess sugar, it doesn't feel that way on the palate, so you can eat them without feeling like you've eaten too much sugar, although obviously we must also be moderate and avoid overindulging.

Overall, it's a product I would buy again, although it's a bit expensive for the amount you get in the package (1500 pesos = approximately $1), but to treat myself and remember the flavors of my country, it's well worth it, especially since Flips cookies are much more expensive because they are imported and not available in every store.
