RE: What is the value of a craftsman's work in your country?

These are interesting observations on the value of craftsmanship in your country. In Canada, handcrafted goods are generally viewed more favorably than mass manufactured goods but also more expensive. It's still difficult to make a living and a lot of the crafts are targeted for the tourism industry. Hopefully the artisans in Brazil will see the value of their work increase.
