Hello everyone,
I'm Sam and this is my entry post to this wonderful community.
I look forward to meeting with lot of likeminds and be able to impact as well as be bless with content that can foster my self improvement.

Social isolation is a situation where an individual is totally or partially disconnected from their social environment. Many factors can cause people into Social isolation such as old age, bereavement, disability, losses, worries and so many more unpalatable life experiences.

I started social distancing myself from January this year after I lose my job and everything seems going down the drain. I couldn't summon the courage to continue be in the face of my connects as I see no reason to do so. I deleted all my social platforms and shutdown any body from reaching out. I was sad and started drinking heavily.

The isolation continues for two months and I began to notice some uncomfortable change in my physical appearance.
I began to gain weight unnecessarily and really fast, my tummy, cheek and arms and laps was all getting swell real big and you know its becoming inconvenience to walk or stand for long.

My kid brother visited after weeks of zero interaction to check on me and after long forced discussion he advice that I at least exercise every morning which I also feel is the least I could do to help myself so I decided to reevaluate my decision and I sluggishly started doing some morning exercise even though I was inconsistent with it.

I continued my morning exercise for days then I decided to check out some more early morning exercise ideas on YouTube from there I was referred to the trainer twitter handle which made me reopened my twitter account and from there I began to follow some accounts I find interesting and from there I began to reconnect with some of my friends and also join in conversations.

After connecting back to social space and my love onee I began some alternative and lucrative business online which has been of great help to myself and my family.

I feel alive back and I no longer feel depressed or Sad over my past so when I come across this community that encourages self development I feel the need to tell my story perhaps it might help someone somewhere who will come across my post to never give in to social isolation irrespective of their situations or difficulties that life may bring.

Below I carefully summed the (3) factors that helped me out of social isolation:

Exercise daily

Exercising the body not only keep us fit but also helps our mood and the feelings can be very positive.

Do not disconnect with your family and love ones

Stay connected with your love ones as we all need people to thrive especially our love ones.

Get online

Online platforms can be wild but there are loads of community or groups you can join and make meaningful conversation or engagement.

I hope this piece can be of help to someone out here and help them recover from whatever bad moments they're going through.

Thank you for reading

I don't see why the need to isolate yourself over a lost job. People get hired, get fire and quit their jobs all the time. It's normal and unfortunately not getting a job becomes normal too. Why delete your profile from social media platforms? Having a job or not having one it's your own business, does not concern others.

The thought of surviving or starting all over is usually overwhelming. We are react differently to life situations.

Thank God that's over now

I'd say there's a danger to getting online when one is in a slump just on terms of might have a lack of 'organic socialization' but as long as one knows control and makes a living out of it, there shouldn't be any harm as long as they don't forget to get some walking exercise and some sun out 🙂 thanks for providing an enlightening read regarding this!
