Ginisang Kalabasa And Sitaw For Our Dinner

Hello, how are you? This is my earliest time to cook dinner, lately my parents have been going home earlier than the time they usually go home. I realize cooking earlier made me realize that I have a lot of time being productive after, because I used to cook at 6 or 7 pm, which is not good LOL. So I guess we are going to eat earlier today, so I have a lot of time finishing this blog.

So for our dinner, I am going to cook Ginisang Kalabasa at Sitaw, a sauteed squash and long string beans. I prefer this one lately, so I usually cook it with coconut milk, but my mom said she prefers the one I cook with Bagoong, so since then, I always cook it with bagoong LOL.



Ingredients I Used:

  • 1 tbsp. Cooking Oil
  • 1/2 cup Meat
  • 4 Cloves Garlic
  • 2 Small Red Onion
  • Thumb Ginger
  • 3 Tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp. Bagoong
  • 1 Chicken Broth Cube
  • 1 1/2 cup Water
  • Squash (Kalabasa)
  • Long String Beans (Sitaw)


Let's Cook!

I added 1 tablespoon of cooking oil to the pan.

When the pan is hot enough, I add the meat.

Cook it until the meat is brown and crispy.

Put in the aromatic ingredients like garlic, red onion, and ginger, and cook them until the fragrance comes out.

When the aromatics are cooked, I add tomatoes.

Cook it until the texture of the tomatoes is mushy.

I added 2 tablespoons of Bagoong.

Let the bagoong seep into the tomatoes for about 10 seconds.

After that, I added 1 1/2 cups of water.

Then I added 1 chicken broth cube.

Mix everything until well combined.

When it starts to boil, I add the sitaw and kalabasa at the same time.

Mix everything.

Let it cook for about 10 minutes on medium heat. After that, I plated the food.
