  • INGREDIENTS: carrot, apple (red), chives, lemon, celery stems, coriander, onion, chayote, olive oil, pepper and salt.
  • INGREDIENTES: zanahoria, manzana (roja), cebollín, limón, tallos de célery, cilantro, cebolla, chayote, aceite de oliva, pimienta y sal.

PREPARATION/PREPARACIÓN

  • We start by cooking the chayote, cutting it in half (I suggest leaving the skin on). Add enough water to a deep pot, add 1 teaspoon of salt, and when it comes to a boil, add the chayote and cook over high heat until softened. The cooking process will take approximately 25 minutes.
  • Empezamos cocinando la chayote... cortamos por la mitad, les sugiero dejar la piel. Agregamos suficiente agua a una olla honda, colocamos 1 cucharadita de sal, cuando rompa el hervor agregamos la chayote, cocinamos a fuego "alto" hasta que se ablande.   • Once the "chayote" has softened, strain it and wait for it to cool to remove the skin, along with the seed and the rough center. Cut it into cubes and set aside for use in the final step.

  • Next, we'll prepare our dressing, which will be the main base for enjoying a VERY tasty and appetizing flavor! In a bowl, combine the scallions, the thinly sliced ​​carrots, the celery stalks, and the onion. Season with lemon juice, pepper, olive oil, and salt to taste. Mix until well combined, and let it sit for 15 minutes.

I never eat chayote because it is not available in my country. But I like to eat this tye of salad. Every day, in my meal there should be a salad item. This much I like to eat salad. I usually eat cucumber, tomato and salad. Sometimes I make both are together sometimes individually. I eat carrot as a salad too.
