RE: 2024 Rwanda Silver Nautical Ounce Cutty Sark, Proof

Hotel with the name I spent visiting the daughter when young in Scottburgh a couple of miles from where I currently live. Visited to see her in 2005 in Greenwich on display.

The Cutty Sark has a significant connection to South Africa due to several incidents and its subsequent use in South African waters. Specifically, the clipper lost its rudder off the Cape of Good Hope during a race in 1872. Later, when owned by a Portuguese company and renamed Ferreira, it sought refuge and was re-rigged in Table Bay (Cape Town) after being damaged in a storm in 1916.

Love the look of the tall ships, reminder of yesteryear, nice coin to add to your collection with the history attached to this one.
