2024 Rwanda Silver Nautical Ounce Cutty Sark, Proof

I've been waiting for a year and a half for the 2024 Rwanda Nautical Ounce to be sold by Apmex or JM Bullion or any of the online dealers to no avail.

I bought this coin early on because this was the only proof coin I have encountered on the Nautical Ounce series!

Then the 2025 Nautical Ounce came out, and of course I had to get that one. I am still waiting for the 2024 Nautical Ounce.

In the meantime, this is the proof version of the coin!

You have to agree with me that this coin is gorgeous!

Proof coins are produced in small quantities, often for collectors. The background of the coin is polished to a high shine, creating a reflective surface that contrasts dramatically with the frosted design elements. These coins have crisp edges and intricate detail far beyond regular circulation coins, making them exclusive and sometimes more valuable.

Hotel with the name I spent visiting the daughter when young in Scottburgh a couple of miles from where I currently live. Visited to see her in 2005 in Greenwich on display.

The Cutty Sark has a significant connection to South Africa due to several incidents and its subsequent use in South African waters. Specifically, the clipper lost its rudder off the Cape of Good Hope during a race in 1872. Later, when owned by a Portuguese company and renamed Ferreira, it sought refuge and was re-rigged in Table Bay (Cape Town) after being damaged in a storm in 1916.

Love the look of the tall ships, reminder of yesteryear, nice coin to add to your collection with the history attached to this one.

Thank you, @ekavieka !
I'm lucky because I got exposed to stacking in 2014, liked what I saw, and started at the end of 2015 😁! You can be exposed to and like what you see, but if you don't act on it, you remain the same.🙁

I have all the ships of this series BUT the Cutty Sark. No BU version of this coin ever made it into any of my retailers at all and I haven't seen any Proof versions either. Ebay.ca, nada. This will be one of my 2025 12 Days of Christmas coins. 😒

The Proof coins are definitely awesome. I have the proof and BU USS Constitution, a big difference.

Always, with !LUV 🤗🌺❤️

I wonder what happened to the BU versions. At least I have the proof one. When 2025 showed up early June, I figured the US dealers won't be carrying the Cutty Sark at all. But as I returned from my weekend trip, Apmex now carries its photo in their catalouge.
!LUV always, sis🤗🌺❤️

A seriously beautiful coin sis! I can see why you wanted it! The detailing is superb as it should be for a proof, but it is stunning-really! A great addition to your collection! Thanks for sharing; Sunday blessings to you! !LUV ya much sis!🤗❤️🌹😘😍 !LADY !PIMP !INDEED

Come to think of it, I probably lucked out, because I don't think they will ever have Cutty Sark even if it shows in the catalogue, sis. At least I have the Cutty Sark, although it is different from the rest. And it is a wonderful addition!

The image of the 2024 Rwandan Nautical Jaguar is simply perfect; there's no other word to describe it; the exquisite detail is evident. I just wish I could understand why these beauties don't exist here in Brazil. Over the years, coins have become less innovative.

I've got a Jaguar colorized coin, but do not have a 2024 Rwanda Nautical Jaguar.
It is coin #1917 of #2000!

Think positive, one day you'll make it. The world is often strange, and when we least expect it, we end up making it.

NOTE: I'm so used to your posts that when I saw that I hadn't posted for 2 days, I was already worried.

That's a really cool piece! I used to know some brothers who grew up in Rwanda as their parents were missionaries there.
