I remember that feeling perfectly, of being glued to the screen, feeling the oppression of the catacombs. The found footage is key, because it makes you enter that labyrinth with them. And yes, it's incredibly powerful how they use personal traumas as traps! It's not just scary, it also stirs you inside with that mixture of guilt and regret.
I totally agree, it's one of those that stays with you!

That's why it's one of my favourites. It's not just horror with monsters; there's an underlying theme of trauma, guilt and remorse that is used to 'provoke' terror and, of course, the beings that are true monsters or entities that appear at different points in the story.
