Abundance of fruits | Market day
Good morning, beautiful people of Hive! Yesterday, my parents went to the night market to buy our weekly consumption of fruits and vegetable produce. As a household of 8, food has been one of the things we spend more money for, among other things. So budget wise, it just make sense that we buy them in the night market rather than in the grocery store.
When my parents arrived home, each of us grabbed 1 bag full of produce from our vehicle to the second floor of our house and place them on the fridge. My parents bought some green vegetables, calamansi, cauliflower, and a whole lot of fruits.
As I've shared in my previous blog, my family, especially my mom, loved melon (also known as Cantalope), we made a milky dessert out of this fruit. So this time, my parents bought 16 melons home. I'm not sure if we could finish all of this before it goes over ripe, so I made a batch of our favorite dessert, milk melons, right away.
My parents also bought some ripe mangoes and planned to make some mango float or mango ice candy. I'm not sure if it's already mango season here in the Philippines, though.
Lastly, we have some star apple (locally known as caimito). Growing up, we used to eat this either raw or mixed with evaporated milk. Upon checking them, some are already very riped. Maybe we should also make a batch of star apple in evaporated milk.
Having said this, I'm actually lactose intolerant. Drinking lots of evaporated milk would cause me to have pimple breakouts. I can't promise to control my intake, but I'll try my best.
With all these blessings, I'd like to thank the Lord for providing us abundance. Another thing to be grateful for. Happy weekend, everyone!
That's it for today's blog. See you in my next one!
Sending some love and light
With love, Jane
I love the mangoes!
Mee too!
Thanks for dropping by :)
That's delicious.
Yes, they are :)
How much kilo ng melon? Or is it sold pet piece? I missed milky melon drinks, huhu. And that caimito, tagal na talaga last kain ko nyan. Bata pa ako, lol. Ang dami nyong fruit. Pwede magpaampon? Haha
I'm not sure about the price sis. But mura lng tlga sa night market compared to grocery store Kaya we buy in bulk.
Ohh, that's cool, dito samin minsan kamahal din ay. Aguyyy
You're very fortunate to have your parents. Those fruits are what I miss. I wish to buy them at a certain time. Hehe
