Quest for a New Laptop: My Journey to Oke-Ilewo
Good day, everyone. It's been a long time since I wrote my last post.
I've been thinking about buying a new laptop for a while because my first laptop got damaged beyond repair and my second laptop was not compatible with my programming tasks. So it was considered useless as well. So today, I just want to tell you guys about how my journey went to Oke-Ilewo yesterday.
I woke up yesterday safe and sound, but the feeling that I need a new laptop to boost my learning speed in my tech career whirls through my mind. So first, I called my mentor yesterday. I told him that I wanted to buy a laptop, but I didn't know where I could get it. He initially contacted me to inquire about the specific laptop I desired to purchase, so I told him that I wanted a laptop that would work perfectly for my programming tasks. I told him that I wanted a 16-GB RAM, 512-GB SSD-core i7 laptop. I told him that it could be any laptop (except for Dell), and so far it has all the requirements needed. So he told me a location and that I should go to "Ancestor Computer" at Oke-Ilewo in Abeokuta.

So I set out for Oke-Ilewo at around 1 p.m. in the sunny afternoon. I entered a shuttle bus from the school gate to camp, and then from there, I looked for a cab that transports people from camp to Oke-Ilewo. The journey took me about two hours from camp to Oke-Ilewo.
Upon arriving at Oke-Ilewo, I asked around for the "Ancestral Computer" computer shop, so people directed me there, so it was very easy to find the location. But upon arriving at the place, to my surprise, they had left the place. I was told they left the place a few months ago and have found another location. To myself, I thought that I would be able to get the laptop price. But I couldn't. Thinking back on the whole journey from the hostel, I was frustrated and lost all interest. I felt like, had I known, I should not have left the hostel. Although before that time, my friend had told me not to go at all but to stay at home. I should just ask for the price from our classmate who sells laptops.
Thinking about everything made me have a headache.
Before leaving Oke-Ilewo, I had to make my journey worthwhile, so I strolled through the whole place at Oke-Ilewo, and I adventured the whole place at the roundabout, then down the street. From there, I stayed at the roadside, where I would see a cab back to camp. From camp, I took a cab to my hostel.
So from there, I arrived home. The whole journey took me about 5 hours and 30 minutes.
Lol... I told you not to go but you later went 🤣. Now you don waste time and money 🤣😂😂.
Guy Dell is actually one of the best system manufacturers out there and you are saying except from Dell.
If I was you, after getting to Ike olowo, I would enquire if there are other laptop shops around. You can use Google maps for that. Then go there so that it would not be a waste of time.
Smiles 😃. I actually search for other places, but I couldn't find. I've never tried Google maps before though.
Well thanks for the new insight.
Sorry about the stress bro, you would have gotten whatever you wanted in Lagos at Computer Village in Ikeja if your location isn't far from there but it is.
I think you can find a sure plug that can give you the price so that you can know the amount of money you need. Well done man, at least you enjoyed the time out.
Sure, but the computer village is very far from Abeokuta. And I don't really know the whole area.
That's a nightmare and I am glad it did not happen to me :) I hope you can get the laptop you want, soon. Just out of curiosity, why don't you want DELL?
The ones I've seen so far are big and heavy.
Those must be old generation as the new ones are slim and lightweight. I have one and it's slim.
Oh, can you give me any name, I'll surely take note of it.Thanks
This is mine https://laptopmedia.com/laptop-specs/dell-inspiron-3584-44/
And I have an external drive for storage of 1T.
But it's already old as I bought it in 2019 I guess.
It weights 2.00 kg (4.4 lbs). Lighter than that are the new ones, but those most likely are over your budget.
Thank you very much, I'll look into it

So sorry Siki for your disappointing experience. I am the Ancestor of Ancestor's Computer Shop. Our business currently moved to Ghana. But there are other places you can get good Laptops at Okelewo. When next you go to Okelewo ask for Iyalaso complex. There you can get variety to choose from. You can still reach out to me for guidance
