And so they sat still in love as the day they met, it would seem the Djinn tricked them all those years back!
That can be debated, because the wish is never actually told to us. A lot of people think that the wish that geralt muttered to save him and Yennifer was that there fates would be entwined. As when Geralt does die in the books ( Lady of the Lake) Yennifer dies beside him due to the exhaustion caused by trying to save his life.

Ahh damn broh, I had no idea they died in the books 😂 but I suppose I have to get my hands on them sometime...I'm drawing closer to the end of my GoT book series and I'll need something after..
Although it's cool knowing that, how much different are the games from the books?
A lot! The books are more focused on Geralt trying to find Ciri, and protect her rather than fighting monsters. If you played the first game at the start Geralt finds himself outside of Kaer Morhen with no memory. In TW2 he learns that while in his heaven ( Ciri puts both Geralt and Yenns body in a boat and brings them to the malus island) the Wild Hunt invaded and kidnapped Yennifer, in an attempt to find Ciri ( the wild hunt going after ciri is explained in the books). Geralt spent months tracking down the wild hunt with three other Witchers from the school of the Viper, one of which was Letho of Gullet. Geralt eventually finds the wild hunt and the witchers go up against them but for everyone they killed two took their place. In order to save Yenn Geralt made a deal with Eredin, his soul for yennifer's, and Eredin agreed, erasing Geralt's memory.
In a certain mission in TW3 it's explained that Ciri found out about Geralt's fate and battled Eredin, although it was a draw, Ciri bought enough time to teleport Geralt outside of Kaer Morhen which is why he was there during the start of the first game.
