Today I want to share with you a new experience, a new course held at the College of Dentists of Aragua State, in Venezuela, in this case focused on what is related to Injected Veneers.

I went to this course with my friend, colleague and colleague, Dr. Sonia Feletto.

In order to explain what injected veneers are, in a few words this refers to a dental technique that uses materials such as composite resin or ceramic to improve the aesthetics of the smile.These are thin veneers that are bonded to the surface of the teeth to correct various problems, such as:

• Shape: Teeth that are worn, fractured or have irregular edges.
• Size: Small teeth or teeth with interdental spaces (diastemas).
• Color: Stained, darkened or discolored teeth.
• Position: Slightly crooked or misaligned teeth.

Hoy quiero compartirle una nueva experiencia, un nuevo curso realizado en el Colegio de Odontólogos del Estado Aragua, en Venezuela, en este caso enfocado en lo relacionado a Carillas Inyectadas.

Curso al que fui junto a mi amiga, colega y compañera de labores, la Doctora Sonia Feletto.

Para poder explicarle que son las carillas inyectadas pues en pocas palabras esto se refiere a una técnica odontológica que utiliza materiales como la resina compuesta o la cerámica para mejorar la estética de la sonrisa. Se trata de finas láminas que se adhieren a la superficie de los dientes para corregir diversos problemas, como:

• Forma: Dientes desgastados, fracturados o con bordes irregulares.
• Tamaño: Dientes pequeños o con espacios interdentales (diastemas).
• Color: Dientes manchados, oscurecidos o con decoloraciones.
• Posición: Dientes ligeramente torcidos o mal alineados.

The benefits of performing this technique correspond to:

• Fast results: They can be placed in a single session.
• Minimally invasive: They do not require significant grinding or wear of the tooth.
• Natural appearance: They mimic the color and texture of the natural tooth.
• Durability: They can last up to 10 years with good care.
• Versatility: Can be used to correct a variety of esthetic problems.
• Reversible: In some cases, they can be removed without damaging the tooth.

The positive thing about this course was to update my knowledge regarding this technique, so that I could complement my skills, besides the fact that for the patients it is very positive since it allows time saving, less pain and in short, a better treatment.

Although I had to move to another state, even when I had to move certain scheduled appointments, I have always considered that the update, the continuous study is a fundamental part of my growth as a professional and this in turn is a benefit for my patients because in the end their oral health is the most important thing when they come to my office or simply when they have a dental consultation with me.

Los beneficios de realizar esta técnica corresponden a:

• Resultados rápidos: Se pueden colocar en una sola sesión.
• Mínimamente invasivas: No requieren tallado o desgaste significativo del diente.
• Apariencia natural: Imitan el color y la textura del diente natural.
• Durabilidad: Pueden durar hasta 10 años con un buen cuidado.
• Versatilidad: Se pueden utilizar para corregir diversos problemas estéticos.
• Reversible: En algunos casos, se pueden retirar sin dañar el diente.

Lo positivo de este curso fue actualizar mis conocimientos con respecto a esta técnica, para de esta manera ir complementando mis habilidades además de que para los pacientes es muy positivo ya que permite el ahorro de tiempo, menor dolor y en fin un mejor tratamiento.

A pesar de que me tocó movilizarme a otro estado, aun cuando me tocó mover ciertas citas programadas, siempre he considerado que la actualización, el estudio continuo es parte fundamental de mi crecimiento como profesional y esto a su vez es un beneficio para mis pacientes por que al final su salud bucal es lo mas importante a la hora de ir a mi consultorio o sencillamente al momento de tener una consulta odontológica conmigo.

Thankful for this space, as I have said in other occasions, I consider that professional growth is extremely important for me, for our lives.
