First of all, it is important to remember that AI is just another product of large technology companies. Like any product, it can be used for different purposes, including marketing strategies such as Greenwashing or Purplewashing.
As for the historical inaccuracies you mention, I agree with you. I have seen similar examples in relation to Venezuelan history, such as the misrepresentation of the birth of Francisco de Miranda or General Manuel Piar. This is worrisome, as AI has the potential to influence the way people perceive history.
AI is not without biases. In fact, these biases are likely to amplify as AI becomes more powerful.
As for the idea that AI could be used as a population control tool, I think that is a real possibility. Governments and companies could use AI to manipulate people, monitor them, or even control their behavior.
I believe that in the long run, creating AI will become similar to playing with Lego sets: each person will be able to have his or her own version of AI tailored to his or her own interests and values.
