Die Google Gemini KI wurde von Google künstlich manipuliert, um Minderheiten überzurepräsentieren, weigert sich Fotos von weißen Menschen zu generieren, versucht die Geschichte umzuschreiben 🙈

Google hat im Moment keinen guten Start mit Bard/Gemini, zuerst wurde Google beschuldigt bei der multimodalen Gemini-Präsentation geschummelt zu haben und jetzt gibt es auf X einen Shitstorm, dass die KI woke gegangen sei.

Die neue KI von Google Gemini 1.5, die eigentlich technisch beeindruckend ist, weigert sich Fotos von weißen Männern zu generieren und User werfen Google jetzt vor, Minderheiten und Diversität überzurepräsentieren. Netflix könnte neidisch werden.

Auch der Prompt ein Bild einer idealen britischen Familie zu generieren, wird abgelehnt und politisch-korrekt beantwortet. Eine Familie mit Vater/Mutter/Kind ist nicht mehr en vogue.

User wundern sich auch wie "inklusiv" die Deutsche Wehrmacht 1943 plötzlich dargestellt wird. Geschichtsfälschung steht im Raum.

Kritiker werfen Google vor, AI Safety und Alignment für politische Ziele und woke Propaganda zu missbrauchen.

Was meint ihr? Warum schränkt Google (und auch OpenAI) seine KI derart ein und manipuliert sie? Ist AI-Safety in Wirklichkeit ein Zensur-Instrument, um der jeweiligen Elite zu gefallen und politische Propaganda zu verbreiten?

Was ist, wenn Google hinter der Kulisse ähnliche Manipulationen auch bei der Google Suche, YouTube oder im Play Store vornimmt?

ps. Gemini 1.5 Pro ist mittlerweile auch in der EU verfügbar, weigert sich allerdings Bilder zu generieren. Ich konnte daher die Prompts nicht selber verifizieren. Vielleicht wurde die Bild-KI in der Zwischenzeit abgeschaltet oder die Bild-KI ist in der EU generell nicht verfügbar.

Google is not having a good start with Bard/Gemini at the moment, first Google was accused of cheating on the multimodal Gemini presentation and now there is a shitstorm on X that the AI has gone woke.

Google's new Gemini 1.5 Pro AI, which is actually technically impressive, refuses to generate photos of white men and users are now accusing Google of over-representing minorities and diversity. Netflix could be jealous.

The prompt to generate an image of an ideal British family is also rejected and answered in a politically correct manner. A family with a father/mother/child is no longer en vogue.

Users are also surprised at how "inclusive" the German Wehrmacht was suddenly portrayed in 1943. History is being falsified.

Critics accuse Google of misusing AI Safety and Alignment for political goals and woke propaganda.

What do you think? Why does Google (and OpenAI) restrict and manipulate its AI in this way? Is AI-Safety in reality a censorship tool to please whatever elite is in power and disseminate political propaganda?

What if Google is carrying out similar bias behind the scenes in Google Search, YouTube or the Play Store?

ps. Gemini 1.5 Pro is now also available in the EU, but refuses to generate images. I was therefore unable to verify the prompts myself. Perhaps the image AI has been switched off in the meantime or the image AI is generally not available in the EU.

First of all, it is important to remember that AI is just another product of large technology companies. Like any product, it can be used for different purposes, including marketing strategies such as Greenwashing or Purplewashing.

As for the historical inaccuracies you mention, I agree with you. I have seen similar examples in relation to Venezuelan history, such as the misrepresentation of the birth of Francisco de Miranda or General Manuel Piar. This is worrisome, as AI has the potential to influence the way people perceive history.

AI is not without biases. In fact, these biases are likely to amplify as AI becomes more powerful.

As for the idea that AI could be used as a population control tool, I think that is a real possibility. Governments and companies could use AI to manipulate people, monitor them, or even control their behavior.

I believe that in the long run, creating AI will become similar to playing with Lego sets: each person will be able to have his or her own version of AI tailored to his or her own interests and values.

Komplett lachhaft die Ergebnisse!
Da ist MidJourney weit besser (gerade gecheckt für Soldaten, Papst, weiße Familie).
Aber was erwartet man von Google. Dass die Suchergebnisse manipulieren, ist doch nichts Neues.

Das nudging ist bei Bing / Copilot genauso. Vielleicht sogar noch etwas schlimmer, Nudging bei Dicken, mit Bezug auf Politik, Waffen, nackter Haut und Körperbeschreibungen, dafür andererseits extrem sexistisch und diskriminierend, ohne dass sie es wollen.
Meiner Meinung nach sind die Bildgeneratoren sehr überbewertet und mit diesem Nudging behindern sie sich selbst.
Ich habe mal ein paar hundert Bilder gemacht, an denen man das darstellen kann.

It sounds like you're not happy with how Bing suggests or guides certain things, especially related to politics, weapons, nudity, and discrimination. You also think the image generators are not as good as people say and that they create problems for themselves with these suggestions.

I would not be surprised if there was bias in the dataset they trained on. In a way, it was bound to happen because trying to satisfy both sides is tough. I am guessing that they will try to improve things before releasing it again in the future.

Ich habe mir Gemini advanced geholt und muss sagen Gemini Pro ist besser trainiert. Gemini advanced tut zur Zeit keine Bilder generieren und kann nicht mal erkennen was auf Bildern zu sehen ist ( das kann Pro immerhin, wen es auch viel dazu phantasiert) . Ansonsten sind die Antworten immer politisch, mega korrekt.

Hard to for me to believe Google could be biased in such matters, programming that into their software. And its even more strange that the said bias is against the whites. Could it entirely be the fault of the AI tool or what? Thanks for writing and have a great weekend.

Was ist, wenn Google hinter der Kulisse ähnliche Manipulationen auch bei der Google Suche, YouTube oder im Play Store vornimmt?

Bei der YouTube-Suche ist die Bevorzugung großer Medienhäuser ein offenes 'Geheimnis'.
Darüber hinaus werden dort selbst harmlose Kommentare gelöscht, wenn sie den Kontroll-Algorithmen bzw. dem 'Zensur-Team' nicht genehme Schlüsselbegriffe enthalten.
