In this ever busy world and with all the stress and hustle of daily life, it can be easy to forget that the small things we do can have a major effect on our lives and outcomes. Often, we wait for special moments such as New Year’s to make a resolution to begin major life changes for ourselves, but the truth is you can achieve anything by changing things in your life with just a small shift in your attitude and habits.
Practicing simple but effective habits every day can transform your life into one that is not only better, but filled with more pleasure and fulfillment. For example, waking up early and spending time in the morning when the mind is free and focused, will allow for more efficient time for meditation, planning, self-growth or more leisure time to sip on a cup of coffee with no distractions.
Reading each day opens you up to a whole universe of new ideas, new information, and new ways of thinking. There are some things that merely a few minutes of reading each day can do for your brain. It can help you improve your vocabulary, help sharpen your focus and just help you think more clearly. Choosing to read a book that you like and believe in can really make a difference and will help you grow as an individual. range 50-60
Starting a routine of gratitude before going to sleep and writing down 3 things you are grateful for (even trivial ones) can help turn your outlook around. By acknowledging and recognizing the smallest blessings (say the smile from someone you didn't know), or a delicious dinner you cooked yourself, you can begin to shift your mindset from negative to positive and start experiencing peace and contentment.
To take the time to exercise your body on a regular basis doesn't have to mean hitting the gym, either 20 minutes of walking, light stretching, or just hanging out with your friends and doing a little dancing will give your energy a boost, lift your mood, and even put your body in a better state to begin with.
Staying away from screen before bedtime time impacts your sleep, how focused you are and your mood to a large extent. So whether it be committing to an hour of " no phone " time before bedtime or simply spending a few moments outside without constantly checking your phone will allow you to sleep better, wake up with soundness, reconnect with the real world and reconnect with yourself.
These minor habits, when consistently nurtured and integrated into your daily routine, have the transformative capability to effect substantial positive changes in your life. Start by selecting one habit, vow to remain with it religiously, and observe firsthand the vast difference that it can create. Remember, the journey of transformation and change does not have to be a daunting prospect, it thrives on the shoulders of commitment and consistency.
