A Graphic Designer with a Unique Touch
This story is about my first Son who has an incredible eye for design and a passion for creating visually stunning work that stands out. His name is Desmond, nick name "Desbrain." Since this boy was 8 year old, he has shown a desire to do great things in life especially in the creative field and technology.
At 8, he once fixed a broken Nokia phone and made a power bank from scratch using old battery parts and and a charging circuit. By the time he turned 12, he was already an expert in mobile phone and computer repairs and was helping neighbors troubleshoot their devices. But for education I couldn't allow him to pursue it full time, so he balance it with school work and manage to maintain good grades as he passed out from secondary school.
Meanwhile, Desmond has also been doing graphics design along the way. He learned everything on his own using his phone and have mastered the most popular design software and tools available today. How he managed to do it while juggling school work and his repeat business is beyond me.
Now, at 18, Desmond is a year one computer science student in the university, a course he chose to align with his passion for technology and design. Before now, he has been doing local design jobs for church events and small businesses within our locality and have been trying to build a portfolio on LinkedIn and other notable freelancing platforms to showcase his work and attract more clients.
Somehow, things have started picking up for him as he has been receiving more enquiries from potential clients looking to hire him for various design projects. He has even got interviewed by some media outlets interested in his work and story. However, he's currently facing a setback. He needs a laptop to handle more complex design projects and meet clients deadline. Without proper equipment, he risks losing opportunities and falling behind in his university coursework as well. Although I have gave him my old laptop to use, the laptop couldn't handle the needed software required for professional level graphics design work. My old laptop is a Dell with outdated windows 7 operating system and insufficient RAN to run modern design applications like Adobe Creative suite smoothly.
With the growing client base and university demands, he urgently needs a modern laptop. This is my current challenges as his father, trying to find a way to support his dreams in the face of limited financial resources.
I wanted to use this post to reach out for help in getting Desmond a new laptop that will give him the capability to undertake professional work as a designer and also help him in his computer science course without falling behind.
I would be eternally grateful if anyone of you who may be reading this post is able to help us in any way. At present, we require about $85 more to fulfill the total amount of money that we have managed to save in order to acquire a laptop matching the demand. The total cost of the laptop is about $150.
Any contribution no matter how small will be greatly appreciated.

If I could I'd help with an entire laptop, unfortunately my own situation isn't great at the moment. Just scraping by.
One thing it seems to me like is missing in his work endeavours is the strategic part. Thinking ahead and prepare for when the business needs scaling.
