[ENG/DEU] Update for the CryptoCompany Voting Service

I have made a change to the CryptoCompany Voting Service that brings some advantages. Here are the details:

Ich habe eine Änderung am CryptoCompany Voting Service vorgenommen, die einige Vorteile mit sich bringt. Hier die Details:

Due to ongoing technical problems I had to discontinue the discount and prioritization based on votes for @cryptocompany, @ccceo.voter and @powerpaul. This was necessary because after intensive troubleshooting and optimization attempts over several days, I was unable to find a satisfactory solution. The effort required to rectify the problem was out of all proportion to the benefit, which is why I decided to make the change.

The previously possible 21% discount and priority can now be realized via HP delegations. This means that up to 70% discount/priority can now be generated instead of the previous 50%.

Aufgrund anhaltender technischer Probleme musste ich den Rabatt und die Prioritätsvergabe aufgrund von Votes für @cryptocompany, @ccceo.voter und @powerpaul einstellen. Dies war notwendig, da ich nach intensiver Fehlersuche und Optimierungsversuchen über mehrere Tage zu keiner zufriedenstellenden Lösung gekommen bin. Der Aufwand zur Behebung stand in keinem sinnvollen Verhältnis zum Nutzen, weshalb ich mich für eine Umstellung entschieden habe.

Die ehemals möglichen 21% Rabatt und Priorität sind nun über HP-Delegationen realisierbar. Dadurch können nun bis zu 70% Rabatt/Priorität generiert werden, statt zuvor 50%.

Why the changeover?

Despite intensive efforts, I was unable to solve the error in the previous vote calculation. Although I could have invested more working days in the problem, this effort would have been disproportionate. Instead, I can now work on other issues that are of greater benefit to CryptoCompany and its participants as a whole.

Trotz intensiver Bemühungen konnte ich den Fehler in der bisherigen Vote-Anrechnung nicht lösen. Ich hätte zwar noch weitere Arbeitstage in das Problem investieren können, jedoch wäre dieser Aufwand unverhältnismäßig gewesen. Stattdessen kann ich nun an anderen Baustellen arbeiten, die für CryptoCompany und seine Teilnehmer insgesamt von größerem Nutzen sind.

Further effects of the changeover:

More efficient use of the website API: As fewer API calls are required, the website's susceptibility to errors decreases.

Faster loading times: The performance of the voting service improves due to the reduced API load.

Changed weighting: According to my calculations and assumptions, this will strengthen the economy within CryptoCompany, as well as the value that users of the voting service can receive.

Relatively few users of the voting service have used the discount via votes. If you were one of them, I regret the change. At the same time, strengthening the delegation weighting offers new advantages and stabilizes the voting service and CryptoCompany in the long term.

Weitere Auswirkungen der Umstellung:

Effizientere Nutzung der Website-API: Da weniger API-Aufrufe notwendig sind, sinkt die Fehleranfälligkeit der Website.

Schnellere Ladezeiten: Die Performance des Voting-Service verbessert sich durch die reduzierte API-Belastung.

Veränderte Gewichtung: Meinen Berechnungen und Annahmeh zufolge wird dies die Ökonomie innerhalb von CryptoCompany stärken, wie auch den Wert, welche Benutzer des Voting Service empfangen können.

Nur relativ wenige Benutzer des Voting-Service haben den Rabatt über Votes genutzt. Falls du dazugehört hast, bedauere ich die Umstellung. Gleichzeitig bietet die Stärkung der Delegationsgewichtung neue Vorteile und stabilisiert langfristig den Voting-Service sowie CryptoCompany.

Thank you! I am glad that you agree with the decision/change. Yes, all things have a positive and negative side. But I think in the long term this change should serve us.

Plus what I didn't mentioned in the article above: it could be seen critical by HW to "exchange" votes. I am very happy that the Voting Service is confirmed by them (but the confirmation was before I included the vote-discount-aspect...) and I think the latest update will maintain that.

I can understand why the upvote discount would be discontinued, although I will miss it. I can afford more upvotes than delegations right now, but it is what it is. I really like how the voting service is being maintained and tweaked for maximum efficiency and I look forward to future improvements and features. Hoping for more discount options, it really increases the service appeal!

Do you know what? I am really happy about a critical voice! I am much more happy about this than always a AAA rating.

Yes, for the growth of the service the new solution is better, but I agree with you, that it was easier to gain the percent via a vote and therefore more user friendly for the user in the short term.

I tell you, I didn't made it easy for me to discontinue this aspect. I am really kind of sorry about - and a little sad. It only helps me that know that in the long term there will be more value at the voter via this new update/direction - and/or more burnt CCD.

I worked this night on a new feature which is in the pipeline where Hivians can earn in combination with commentrewarder. So... Maybe I can increase your joy with the new feature again - and help you to gain earnings with commentrewarder. I assume it will need only a few work hours more until I can release it.

Thank you very much for your understanding & much more for your critical comment! I think this is pretty important to guide me/things into the best direction. This kind of feedback is important for me to remember once again (I don't wanna say that I don't have it in focus. But critic helps!) that I always have to try to think about how to make the best out of our CryptoCompany.

Right now I check if I have included a specific banner which I sometimes include... But even if it's just sometimes included, the content of it is always valid. But I don't have it included in this article... This one:

Wow, I am grateful. I don't give criticism easily and would prefer to just be agreeable with everything all the time. But as long as the criticism is constructive, it's valuable and a net positive. I think it's all about an encouraging attitude - you have demonstrated good-will effort to manage serviceability, scalability, profitability, and sustainability - all which are required for productive long-term service. I really am looking forward to whatever innovation is next. I'm a big fan of commentrewarder and it will be interesting to see where this is going. :-)

I think that's a good change. Firstly because, as you mentioned, you would have needed a long time to rectify the error. And secondly, because I don't necessarily believe that 100% votes have done the Crypto Company project much good when you barely have any HP. I'm definitely not taking myself out of it.
Extending the discount to the delegated HP probably makes more sense.

As someone who used the discount on my main account I don't mind the change. i always saw the discounts as a bonus any way. :). !BBH. Is there a way to add a "recent posts" page where users can see the lis of the recent posts anyway? I did like the ability to see the most recent posts in one webpage. helped me keep track of the posts.

Answer to your question: kind of. On the front page (click on the logo of the website) there is a overview about all postings with #cryptocompany. This can serve as a almost complete overview. Sometimes I write a posting on @powerpaul which doesn't use #cryptocompany.

Your idea is very good. I had this one too in the past, very long ago, thought again about not very long ago and now you remind me that this overview would be a good idea if I like to enable easier support.

This will be done easily - I take it to my list. Right now I work on a new feature/function for CryptoCompany participants. Because of your mentioned function is not a big deal, I assume I can push it before the next bigger task. Should only be a thing of a few days until we see your wish realized.

[@PowerPaul:] Yeah, good that you mentioned that. The needed rep of 55 is a factor to contribute to a wish of HW to avoid scammers and to make the voting service legit/agreeable. But now it's the second time that I know trustworthy Hivians where fall under this + where it's not about a cheap activit third-account, but a serious contribution to our chain. So I think I could/should integrate a list of users which I exclude from this list. Right now the to-do-list is pretty long, but I added this feature to my task list.

I completely understand why it's implemented. It makes sense. It will just take me a little time but luckily I have lots of content to publish so for me it shouldn't take too long. In the meantime I am delegating HP and earning some CCD. :)
