Famous Dave's BBQ

Hello friend and Hivians. I hope all is well. It's the third week of November already, going by so quickly! Today I will take you to a restaurant I visited a while back. I had a good lunch, but it wasn't just the food that kept me entertained.

I've eaten here before and the food isn't all that bad. Famous Dave's is an American franchise barbecue joint. Its just something about barbecue. My tastebuds often crave for it even though its not the most healthy choice. This day I gave into tempations, haha. The good thing is it didn't set me back too much financially. Prices aren't too expensive considering it's a sit-down restaurant.

I decided to get something not too heavy. I went with 4 bones of the St. Louis style spare ribs, some Georgia pulled pork, and some waffle style fries. The corn bread muffin I believe came automatic with it, I cant remember. The food hit the spot as the ribs were tender and well flavored. The pulled pork was moist and tasty as well. The fries were cooked to perfection, crispy and hot. They make some deliciouss corn bread that is already lightly buttered on top and has a very moist texture. In my opinion, you cant have a midwestern barbecue without corn bread. It really just compliments some good old barbecue.

Whenever you eat some spare ribs your going to make a mess with your hands. Napkins don't quite do the job cleaning your hands off. Now some wet wipes they provide do a pretty good job of that. The rest of the mess can be taken care of under the sink. Barbecue can be messy, but its sure worth it, hehe. I was satisfied with my meal and left with a bill under $20, including tip.

So this place is loaded with signs, neon lights and artifacts. Now im not easily fooled, some items are probably new but made to look old. Regardless, they still give the restaurant a cool vibe and a look at the past. Some of the phrases just fit in well. Like eat like a pig, funny because a pig can be a part of the barbecue experience, haha

Every wall had its own theme. Like the one above was related to automotive care. Oil, lubricants, fuel pumps and everything else related to automobiles. I found it neat to look at old advertising of these sort of things.

Not a surprise, I enjoyed this wall the most. I spent a while looking at the things that were hung. Im glad I got there when it just opened because I got to seriously geek out! I saw older nets, rods, reels, lures, advertisements and fisherman of the past posing with their proud catches. I felt it was missing some of my own things 😆

Even the bathroom had some cool things to check out as I went in there to wash my hands. Most of the theme was that of a barber shop. I really thought and wondered if they would really miss the fish lamp if it all of sudden would disappear, hehe.

The food experience was good, but I have to admit the surroundings really made the overall experience even better. It's far from being the best barbecue around but it's not too shabby considering its a chain restaurant. I really enjoyed myself here the 40 minutes or so I spent here. The charm is not every Famous Dave's is exactly the same. The food will be very similar but the decor will be different. I did like their food and enjoyed seeing the loads of decor!

This is all I have for you this time. Take care, stay safe, and have great week ahead. Until next time!

I love Famous Dave's and miss it terribly! They tore ours down over some lease issue, and put up another chicken place that I have never met and probably won't because I'm very resentful about them being there!

Sending you an Ecency curation vote!

Oh no sorry to hear that. A lot of them here have closed as well. Fornately there's still a few around. I remember when they did the feast for two for $25. That was one heck of a meal and was a bit more for two people.

Thank you as always for the duration 😃

Thanks Amiga at the time it was a very satisfying meal. I was thier first customer of the day, I arrived when they first opened the door. Any other time it would have been difficult to get all the pictures. You have a great day as well.

Reading how much you enjoyed the food, I can't help but to get curious and really want to try it myself. Haha. It looks really good that's for sure. And the decorations inside is not that bad either, anyone will enjoy the vibe inside. It's like, what you often see in someone's home. Very homey.

I think you would enjoy this type of barbecue. It felt like home as there was hardly anyone there yet, haha. This was a weekday right at 11:00, felt like I had the place by myself!

That sucks... That is one of the bad things about having the military as an employer, you work on their schedule. I really don't miss those days!

If I was in your place I would spend more than one hour with my food and observing my surrounding. Though I'm not a fun of spare ribs but I love fries😌.
