Today I wanted to talk about how strategies change, and how we should adapt!

Sold HBD Powered Up 1.6k Hive

There are certain times in the crypto realm that you just have to be prepared for, and I think what we are experiencing now, is one of them!

There are going to be fluctuations in any market, when it comes down to it. What we have to do though is be able to react to those fluctuations by being prepared as best we can. I tried to live up to that as much as I can over the last year or so, and I think it's really paid off!

It's always a constant struggle with Hive; balancing between putting HBD into savings and powering up Hive every month or every day. In order to get Hive though, you have to sell HBD! There are technical limits for that, and I think those are sound but it does flip to Hive at some point, although we've only experienced that once briefly a few years ago. That's a different discussion that Edicted has gone into great detail about, so if you're interested, go visit his page!

My balance that I've been trying to strike is between how much HBD do I save every month, and how much to instead put into Hive so that I can power it up for Hive Power! On the Hive Power end, I think I'm actually going to alter that a little bit and instead, starting in the month of July, power up at least 1 hive every day. I have to get a surplus going and that's a different thing altogether but the balance between socking away HBD for a rainy day, and turning it into Hive so I can increase my Hive stake has been a constant battle! Thankfully though, I did stuff a bunch of HBD into my savings account because it sure as shit came in handy yesterday!

There are a lot of negative thoughts about the price action of Hive right now, because it is quite depressed (literally, not psychologically) and that gets people upset, thinking that it's all going to fall apart. I wrote about that yesterday, so you can go visit that post if you'd like. What I didn't think I would do yet though when I was writing that earlier this week, was taking out all of my HBD and getting that ready to buy a bunch of Hive with! I came up with that notion 3 days ago when I saw the price continue to slide and I said fuck it, gotta double down on this!

So I sold all of my HBD, it came out to 171 and change which isn't the biggest amount, but it was a pretty considerable amount, in that I got several Hive per HBD on these prices! I did miss the .2 price point which would have been the best, but I did land at .215 which was still a great price because that Hive got staked immediately!

I had been saving up a few Hive per month in my account, just hanging out as liquid in case the bull market did roll around and I wanted some paper to burn. I landed at around 840 Hive just before I sold all my HBD. Selling my HBD, I got 792 hive which was amazing! That was actually more than I thought I would get which was fucking awesome, and I said fuck it, the bull market isn't going anywhere in the next 3 months so I can save some additional Hive if that does end up happening, but it's not likely IMO at this point. I wanted to put that liquid Hive to work, and powered that up right away!

It's funny because I had a soft goal in mind of getting to 40k Hive Power by the end of the year, unsure at the beginning of the year if I was going to make it but I did end up getting there. I missed my 35k goal at the end of last year by just a little bit but I didn't mind, it was still an awesome amount to land on. This year, I'm blowing past my initial goal that I was aiming for, now I'm sitting at 39.7k Hive Power! I think I may even get that extra 300 Hive Power before Independence Day here in America!

I think this was an incredibly important move for me and for others on the platform. There is a lot of FUD with these prices but the best thing we can do is invest more into the platform at these cheap prices and when things level off and go back on the upward trend, we can reap in increased rewards as each day progresses.

I know people like @meesterboom have done the same thing, though he's done it with quite a bit more HBD than I but I'm still fucking stoked for the Scottsman! The people on here with larger stakes, which I am slowly and strangely getting into that classification (I still remember and consider the days where I had 20 HP like it was yesterday!), should be setting the example for other people by taking what we have and reinvesting it in the platform especially at times like this!
