Oily and Smelly

Hi fellow Hiveians,

Today I wanted to appreciate getting to use up my vast collection of essential oils slowly!

Oily and Smelly

In the progress of purging and using things up.. the next for me is bathroom stuff!

I've been on a heck of a streak in terms of getting to just use things up that we've bought over the years. There are so many things that we collect that end up not being truly needed and end up sitting on a shelf or in a closet for a really long time. In my quest to not spend so much money on random shit.. I've started to REALLY analyze what I've got around and try to focus my time and energy on getting rid of that stuff first before getting other shit.

One of the things I've really enjoyed for many years has been essential oils. They just smell freaking wonderful! I've got a really extensive collection of the damn things.. and that's become a little bit of an issue hahaha. I have all kinds of amazing scents that I really like but like anything where we are collecting things, it's important to also figure out how to use them.

I've been trying to use the things up in earnest for about a year now, with putting them on almost daily while I'm working. I've got a few different scents that are great for that like Stress Relief, Bloom, Nature Walk, Emotional Detox and many others. These are of course blends of a bunch of different oils but the great thing about them is that they smell great and they all have a bunch of properties from the combined oils that work really well.

Another big place that I have started to really try and use the things up is in the shower! I think I first got the idea to add them to the shower that I was taking a year ago or more when I was pretty sick, but I needed something to help me in the steam of the shower. I added some drops of tea tree and eucalyptus oil into the steamy shower and it was amazing! It didn't get rid of the nasty feeling in my body but it was refreshing and certainly helped breathe those nice properties into my lungs.

These days I've been combining a bunch of random oils when I'm hitting the shower and just trying to use the things up as much as possible. Over the last 2 months or so, I think I've gone through about 15 bottles of the stuff which is great because we honestly had a collection of about 50 bottles at one point.. lol a little bit of a problem I know :D.

These days we are down to about 20 which is great! It's still a lot perhaps, but it's far better than we were before and now I am using them up. Some of these bottles are 3 or 4 years old at this point so it's good to get the use out of them instead of just throwing them away to get rid of them.

What about you, are you trying to go through the stuff in your house like this to use them up? Let me know in the comments!

Hehe! My favourite is eucalyptus oil, it's always one of the main components for anything that relates to stress relief.

My wife and I had a kit that we used to use, but we threw it away a couple of months ago as we were cleaning things out. We realized we just don't use it like we used to.
