It is indeed hard. I do find some comfortin the fact that she genuinely looked happy when we were all gathered.
I think she knew.

Sorry to hear about your father in law. I hope it wasn't one of those extremely sudden cases (though it does kinda sound like it).

I actually like the Northampton area, been there a few times.

Thank you for dropping by and for your kind words 🙏🏼

He was being tested for some health issues, had suspected prostrate cancer, seemed like he was doing ok despite it all. Was in good spirits, still active, doing stuff. Then one day it escalated, further tests revealed the cancer had spread and he had days to live. Hence the entire family gathered and within a week he had died. Initially there was anger because some family members felt the hospital didn’t pick up on this sooner etc.

Then as time passed and we dealt with the extreme grief, we held back and decided that the staff simply were dealing with something so severe, they just couldn’t do anything anyway.

We go to Northamptonshire quite a lot to see mum, as a few months later that year she suffered a stroke. She has recovered but that too was an awful thing.

She is doing well and has changed a lot around her house.

That sounds awful! Unfortunately, sometimes cancer can spread worse than a wildfire and it can seem like doctors etc hasn't done their job properly.
I personally think it is the body itself that escalate the condition so fast that it seems it has been spreading for ages.

I'm really happy to hear she's doing well and seem to be in good spirits 🙌🏼
