Fama de América Coffee [Review] ESP/ENG

English
Today I'd like to talk to you about an iconic brand from my country (Venezuela): Fama de América. It's a coffee that's been around for as long as I can remember. My parents, siblings, and I used to drink it at home before I got married and moved out (after that, I stopped being loyal to just one coffee brand). But the other day, while I was at the supermarket, I decided to pick up one of these packages to reminisce about old times. I even remember the catchy jingle from the commercial that used to air on TV when I was a kid: "I know it by the aroma, Fama de América, the best coffee!" 😊 Obviously, I've continued to drink it over the years, although not as often as in my youth, because, as I said, I'm not loyal to just one coffee brand. But after stumbling across that old commercial online, I had a terrible urge to try this delicious, iconic coffee again.
It is a brand with more than 135 years of history, which is why all Venezuelans know it, and in fact the packaging has not changed much over the years, which gives it a unique and classic style.

We usually make strong coffee at home with milk, but this time I wanted to make it without milk, just plain, to take me back to my youth when I lived at my parents' house with my siblings. This way I could truly appreciate the essence of coffee, without altering its flavor beyond the sweetness provided by the couple of teaspoons of sugar I added. The aroma is delicious, incredibly intense; in fact, it permeates the entire house (which helped me relive those memories). As for the flavor, it has sweet and slightly chocolatey notes, perhaps because the beans are grown near cacao trees, giving it a unique and special touch—a blend of interesting flavors.

Some older people claim that its flavor and quality have changed over the years, but the truth is, perhaps precisely because I'm no coffee expert, I don't notice any difference, for better or for worse. To me, it's still the same coffee as always: aromatic, full-bodied, with an intense and delicious flavor, those notes of cocoa, and sometimes I also get a slight nutty taste, especially when I drink it without sugar. One of the things I like most is that enveloping aroma I already described; it's a lingering aroma, especially if it's brewed with a filter. I've always tried it pre-ground, although I imagine that with freshly ground beans it must be a different and even more enjoyable experience.

Thank you so much for letting me share with you my experience with this coffee so characteristic of my country. I hope you have the opportunity to enjoy it, as I understand it is an export-quality coffee.
