How to prepare my local delicacy
Good day hivers, I am delighted to make this write up because this is one of my favourite meals.
This particular farm produce can be used to make various delicacies and one of such is banana porridge ( popularly knowns as Otor mboro in my local dialect).
It is a meal known commonly with the great people of Southern part of Nigeria.
It is rich in fiber, potassium and other minerals. It's rich in taste
It's ingredients are easily accessible, affordable and easy to prepare. Because of its high fiber content, it is also given to babies above 6 months.
Now the preparation journey begins.
Ingredients for making banana porridge
- Unripe bananas
- Palm oil
- Crayfish
- Onion
- Pepper
- Periwinkle
- Pumpkin leaves
- Salt
Procedures for making banana porridge
- Peel the unripe bananas
- Wash the peeled bananas and grate
- Cut, wash and boil the periwinkle
- Dice the onion, grind pepper and crayfish
- Slice the pumpkin leaves
Method of cooking
*Pour 2 cups of water into a pot and allow to boil
- Pour in the ingredients except pumpkin leaves and palm oil to taste
- Pour in the grated banana and and allow to boil
- Add the sliced pumpkin leaves and palm oil and stir. Allow it for about 5 minutes
Banana porridge is ready to serve
