Rain. Mood. Reflections

avatar

Aah, rain!

Lots of it since yesterday afternoon. It went on and on through the night, and it scared me somehow, thinking there might be a typhoon coming. Thankfully, it stopped early in the morning (4 am). It sort of allowed the earth to breathe for some time, then it poured heavily again throughout the day. Sigh...

I should probably admit that no matter how I try to look at such weather differently, I still succumb to a depressive mood, just like today. It's not always, though. Because there are times when the rain brings a sense of coziness and comfort, making me sleep like a baby.

The funny thing is, the LilGuy seems to feel the same way. After breakfast this morning, he quietly climbed onto my lap and then lay his chin on top of the table, letting out a heavy sigh and staying like that for some time. The husband was amused. He was laughing as he took these snapshots.

It made me wonder if our fur babies can pick up on our moods or personality. Should they do, oh my! Just how much of my traits does this little boy mirror! He's so much like me since we are always together 24/7! That means I should be more mindful of my emotions and behavior if I want him to maintain a calm and collected demeanor.

Although I think it's not one-sided because he impacted me too. His sweet, loving, and warm nature had influenced me in some ways. I realized that I can express my feelings more freely. I now naturally display some affection publicly (PDA) these days (not in a vulgar way, i.e, quick smooches, hugs, etc). Well, the husband obviously appreciates it; he's quite the expressive type.😅

Anyway, to stop me from rambling even more, let me just share some reflection hunts at the food house last week.

"Let's take a pic," the hubby said, and our boy was game.

These were random shots while we were waiting for our food. The reflective glass walls mirrored our Yongi and other stuff, even the buildings in the distance.

Our plates finally arrived, and I discreetly took these photos when I noticed the reflections. It looked as though we had double servings and such.

Well, I guess that is all for today. Forgive me, my mind's a mess, obviously. This time I'm blaming the weather, not my hormones, LOL!🤣

All photos are mine. 03092025/20:57ph

Yongi’s sighing pose is adorable! 😂 Your bond with Yongi is really beautiful to read about. I guess now you must stay extra cheerful for his sake!

It was the first time he did that at the table, which was a surprise to us. You're right, I do need to adjust my moods :) Thank you

When it rains it brings me bad mood too! The cold, the grey and dark, it's just bad!

Pets indeed feel how we are feeling

Aah, at least you can relate :) Sometimes I feel envious of those who are still upbeat even in the midst of a downpour.

Haha, yeah. There's nothing I can do about it, so I might just have to adapt to whatever the weather decides to do😅

During the time of rain feeling sleepy is normal in my opinion. Lil Guy is not different. By, the way, Lil Guy looks very cute.

Rainy days really do bring mixed feelings. Sometimes they make everything feel calm and cozy, but other times they can feel heavy on the heart. I love how you shared the bond with LilGuy, it’s true that pets pick up on our moods and give us comfort when we need it most

Rain really does have its own way of changing the mood. LilGuy looks so adorable and the reflections in the photos are very good shots. Pets truly sense our feelings, it’s surprising sometimes how connected I see they are to us

It does :) Unfortunately, it usually makes me feel down, hehe.

Thank you PL, my lil boy is a wonder. He never fails to surprise us in his little ways.

Maybe Sis, the lil guy can feel your emotions. They said they are more sensitive and alert.😁

Thank you. Like me, he doesn't really like rainy days, because he can't play outside😀

Dati maeenjoy mo pa and maeexcite ka pa kapag umuulan kasi masarap maglaro sa ulan, ngayon kakabahan ka nalang talaga if babagyo ba or babaha.

Sana naging okay ang mood mo sa yummy snacks na yaaaan:)

Nakakakaba nga yung lakas at volume ng ulan.

And yes sis, okay na mood kasi at least wala nang ulan, lol!

A rainy day is much more special. On that day, our mood becomes cheerful and everything looks good.

That's good for you :) It's quite the opposite for me. My energy seems to get drained on rainy days.

One thing I realized from reading your article is how much the weather affects our mood. It's also very sweet and thoughtful to see how connected our beloved pets' emotions are to us.
