As we approach the summer months and Q3 it's time to think further ahead. It seems just yesterday we were celebrating our anniversary as Hive.
Hive promotional events and activities had another strong start this year and we'd first and foremost would like to thank all of the contributors who worked tirelessly organizing, mentoring, developing, designing, speaking, representing, racing, meeting, and building for Hive. There are far too many people to list here -- together we are the Hive decentralized community.
Overview [R]
Your Value Plan keyholders as always are @theycallmedan, @smooth, @guiltyparties, @crimsonclad and @blocktrades. Project management is carried out by @crimsonclad and @guiltyparties.
The project scope includes promotional, marketing, impact and task-based activities that support Hive and its ecosystem as a whole. Activities may be major or minor. Project costs such as logistics and merchandise fit within the scope.
We take project management and quality control very seriously. All line items are continuously scrutinized and we employ a cyclical feedback model of communication.

Highlights
A great shout-out!
Following the success of the Rallye Monte-Carlo (Monaco), the Hive team raced in WRC Croatia Rally and is currently preparing for the WRC Vodafone Rally in Porto, Portugal.
Notably, Porto is also the city where you can find a stadium with the Hive logo on the court used by the Associação Atlética de Águas Santas professional handball team.
Hive sports on the move
Other sports on Hive, including motorcycle racing, bicycle racing and amateur running have also gained much traction and attention.
The Street Workout Community held a number of events and continually attracted the attention of local mainstream media. Notably, a monumental sporting event took place some weeks ago in conjunction with the Jose Rafael Revenga special needs school with an impact that went far beyond Hive marketing.
Making a difference
The B2B work of Hive Sucre continues to relentlessly pave the way for HIVE and HBD adoption among retailers.
Elsewhere in Venezuela, Actifit was at the center of a large crossfit event. In addition, the Museo de Bellas Artes de Caracas recently hosted and then joined Hive.
Hive joined multiple events in Peru where we partnered with other blockchain proponents to share our technology and talk Web3.
The Vibes music competition continued to hit the hight notes. Many talented musicians are finding their new home on Hive.
A major joint campaign with Binance saw HIVE added on its Simple Earn Locked Products. The campaign spans April to October and has already garnered much attention.
BuzzParty in Germany drew many Hive community members for a much-awaited meetup and promotional event.
Poland's Hive hub in Krolestwo successfully piloted a series of awesome Hive-focused activities which are scheduled to continue.

The New Internet conference took place in March in Ghana and was organized, designed and documented eniterly by Hive members to much acclaim.
Talent Land, our first external conference in Mexico, was a great success. It was an exceptional event with great synergy.
Wrestlecon brought Hive into the world of wrestling and introduced the world of wrestling to Hive.
Web3 Dubai has just concluded with a Hive presence. Despite obstacles beyond our control, including forces of nature, the conference persevered.
Hive hackathons and tech conferences are gaining traction in India. Two hackathons, Code Hive and Vihaan, were successfully held with many inventive solutions. Hive also joined Google for GDSC WOW, its student conference. Hive inspires and empowers students to reach new heights and to build on a truly decentralized blockchain.

Administrative Discussion
Over time we estimate somewhere between 200 and 300 Hive community members directly contributed to one or more Value Plan project or event. Every conference, every event, every initiative is a serious undertaking leveraging the skills of individuals all over the world.
Management
Value Plan has two project managers at the moment whose primary role is to balance initiatives, ensure all projects are approached professionally, support collaboration between various elements of Hive including dapps and initiatives, and generally assist individuals carrying out marketing. This is not possible without a strong project management education and years of professional experience.
Additionally, all campaigns launched with partners are handled exclusively by marketing professionals on our end and theirs. Marketing a blockchain/cryptocurrency is far different than marketing a traditional business and due to these inherent complexities and our decentralized vision as Hive, we will continue to leverage the strength of our community. No business providing services, including marketing services, is suitable for funding under Value Plan and must formulate their own individual DHF proposal.
Contributions
To contribute under Value Plan in various initiatives, each person must demonstrate competency and professionalism. Each project has different goals they must meet due to the inherent differences between initiatives and all persons work tirelessly towards them due to their faith in Hive and desire to support the ecosystem.
Value Plan contribution at any level is many hours of work. With the exception of a few specialized services (which are paid far below industry standards), there is no remuneration at this time. Hive community members who contribute to Value Plan organizing conference participation, holding events, even driving the rally car are not getting paid for it. They want Hive to succeed, often at the expense to their professional and personal lives.
It should be noted that Value Plan covers the costs of the activity, not the person. It is not a sponsorship. The person who proposes the activity and the person who takes the lead on organizing the activity or representing Hive are often not the same person. Value Plan is an extension of the DHF with a budget aimed at promoting and marketing Hive. It is not a venue for personal projects. Any ideas presented to Value Plan which are either designed as personal businesses or personal projects of any kind are respectfully declined.
Approaches
Value Plan is comprised of multiple streams of activity, some of which are developed over long periods of time. The rally car promotional approach was in the works for several years, for example. It was proposed back upon the launch of Hive but the pandemic stayed it. Rallying has a massive demographic of participants, fans and followers. It is a well-televised sport with professional associations and a global series of events. This is also a sport which, much like Hive, has a presence fairly evenly throughout the world. To date, Hive was seen by millions throughout the world as a result of our participation in WRC competitions.
Physical and digital activities are both very important to promoting Hive. This past quarter we have launched a major campaign with Binance (see above). Further online campaigns are being worked on and we are likely to see more and more of them in the future. We look forward to their success. Hive physical representations such as merchandise gets the Hive brand known in areas beyond events; people take shirts home, they wear them at work in businesses that accept HIVE/HBD, they share them with family and friends. We see proliferation well-beyond our immediate reach.

Glad you addressed some of my concerns in the form of an opinion backed by qualitative observations however there is no quantitative data to make an informed decision to support such a plan or judge the effectiveness of the value plan in providing actual value to the Hive ecosystem. All we have are pictures, where is the data?
Hive went from 0.00003 BTC to 0.000005 BTC since inception and that it has fallen by 67% vs Bitcoin YoY. This tells me that the data does not match the smiling faces in those photos and that the value is not being distributed in an efficient manner. Would the 'marketing professionals', 'project managers' and other experts be so kind as to share your cost-benefit analysis for supporting various projects, including data about the effectiveness of past decisions? This project is asking for $1,200,000 per year or $100,000 per month, at $0.319 hive this is almost 15% of all inflation. A big ask.
Let's hope that this can give Hive good results.
I know that price is not everything, but we are doing something wrong as the price of STEEM is very close to the price of HIVE.
I know they don't have a DHF, and maybe the owner of Steem, who is a billionaire, is investing a lot of money to keep the price up, but still, we should be 2X or 3X the price of STEEM as we have been in the past.
It's great that we have a DHF to have funds, but it seems that this is putting a lot of selling pressure and not letting the price go up.
I don't see many of these projects bringing real investors or good results to Hive besides promotion. Even after giving no results, ValuePlan still gives money to these projects.
We continue to lose Market Cap ranking, and the onboarding and retention are not great.
Also, many apps that receive funds don't work properly yet. In my opinion, most of them are paid a lot for what they do.
This is why I'm not supporting Valueplan's and other proposals. But my vote is not needed because this proposal can be approved only with the vote of Blocktrades and a few other whales.
I care about Hive a lot. And we need to start doing things differently if we want different results. We cannot keep spending more than what we receive back.
It's my opinion. Many of you may have a completely different opinion.
Because of all of this, I have quit the Valueplan group, and I would rather not receive any money or participate in Valueplan-related projects until things change.
Estoy muy de acuerdo en que se deben revisar todas las propuestas y los logros que han tenido en la adopción. Como dices, el precio no lo es todo pero es el mejor termómetro que tenemos para medir que lo que hacemos va por buen camino, y por todo lo que ya sabemos Hive sigue perdiendo valor en el mercado.
Me alegra tu postura, la crítica y tu valentía al dejar valueplan, ya que has sido líder y beneficiario de varios de proyectos adscritos a VP. Es momento de ser autocríticos, y como dices tú, hacer las cosas de manera diferentes para obtener resultados diferentes.
Y he recibido fuertes críticas por eso jajaja.
Quiero aclarar que no pienso que todos los proyectos que son patrocinados por Valueplan sean malos. Hay muchos que sí deberían seguir con el apoyo, pero hay otros que de plano ya no deberían recibir nada, en mi opinión. No los mencionaré, pero ya se imaginarán. Proyectos con líderes tóxicos, que han tenido problemas con personas fuera y dentro de Hive y no solo de Venezuela, de otros países también...
Creo que es importante que ValuePlan tenga mejor feedback de la comunidad, y no digo que solo críticas, porque las tiene y algunas muy destructivas, sarcásticas o hasta burlonas. Necesita feedback constructivo y también considerar la opinión de la comunidad para ver qué proyectos se apoyan y cuáles no.
ValuePlan está centralizado, y en parte la centralización es necesaria, pero a cierto grado. Debemos considerar que este dinero es de toda la comunidad, no es de una persona solamente y a veces parece que así se toman las decisiones.
Otra cosa que no mencioné es que Valueplan también ha fallado en enviar los presupuestos o dinero a tiempo. Cuando fue el HiveFest me tocó mandar dinero a unas personas que se quedaron varadas en un hotel en Europa, sin dinero. Por ese lado VP necesita ayuda y mejor administración. También cuando hubo un evento en México, el dinero se mandó hasta que dicho evento concluyó. Por suerte, al organizador le gusta mucho Hive y no hubo tanto problema por eso, pero cualquier otra persona hubiera hasta quemado a Hive.
En fin, hay mucho por mejorar. Como mencioné, es genial tener fondos para hacer eventos y promocionar Hive, pero debe haber resultados y una mayor transparencia de todo lo que pasa.
La críticas por supuesto que te llegarían, eso no es nada de qué sorprenderse.
Por supuesto, y por eso menciono que hay que revisar cada proyecto y medir de una u otra forma el impacto que ha tenido para Hive y si es conveniente mantener el apoyo.
En cuanto a las críticas, hablo de manera general, no podemos pensar sólo en las destructivas cuando se usa esa palabra.
Yo nunca he sido beneficiario ni he estado en un proyecto que reciba fondos de VP ni del DHF, entiendo que debe ser complicado en muchos casos llevar un proyecto como ese. Pero considero, que estos proyectos que reciben estos fondos, debería de alguna manera hacer público a la comunidad los gastos y pagos realizados, no creo que sea muy difícil si se tiene un orden en lo que hacen, además contamos con una herramienta poderosa como lo es hive.blog. Esta sería mi crítica, creo que constructiva, para cada uno de los proyectos que no lo hacen. Mostrar las fotos y videos de los eventos es necesario, pero también hay que mostrar más afondo como se distribuyen esos fondos. Esto en cuanto a los eventos públicos, para los de desarrollos también creo que podría ser similar.
Una vez comentaba a alguien: si se hace un presupuesto de toda una logística, transporte, comida, obsequios, premiso ... por qué no incluir en ese presupuesto, el pago a una persona que administre y lleve el registro de toda la contabilidad del proyecto para así compartirlo con la comunidad.

With such amount of money spent, there should be regular reports with cost breakdowns and costs spent and costs left still.
And most importantly an EVALUATION of the effect on Hive relative to the costs spent. I don´t see any shift in the user growth.
In any private company such an intransparent initiative would be dead in no time.
